John Denver would be proud!!

What a beautiful sanctuary using all the beauties of nature! My well-behaved off leash pups enjoyed the rock paths over small paths and playing in the tall grass. Picnic tables are here and there and a perfect place to enjoy a packed lunch.

Very Scenic & Fun!!

We arrived at the rafting guide house at 12:30 pm and met up with “Joe” who owns the company and is a “one man band.” He says he has been rafting for 51 years and it showed! He handled the Colorado river with steady maneuvers. He pointed out scenic views and taught me what an “eddy current” is in the river. The three of us sat in the front of the raft with our 2 dogs. Joe used 2 oars and navigated behind us. None of us had to row which was nice as one of our dogs kept wanting to jump into the river. 😂🤭. Our other dog sat calmly at our feet and did not know what to think of this excursion. 👀😀Joe supplied the life vests for each of us, dogs included. We did one stop along the river to stretch our legs. The river was unusually high and lots of wind so our river float went quicker than most. There was mostly calm spots with a few fun Class 2.5 waves that got us a little wet along our sides. We were done rafting in about 2 hours. Definitely a family friendly 🏠and dog friendly🦴🐾🐶 experience that we will always remember.

Native Texans who loved this place!

We live in Houston & know our BBQ. Serious BBQ is seriously some of the very best we had! We got the sampler plate that my husband and I shared. Our grown daughters got the turkey w/mac n cheese tacos on a flour tortilla. Big hit! They both got a 2nd taco but with sausage & mac/cheese (we had not eaten all day). They said both tacos were fabulous! We highly recommend this place!

Only for CAR RIDE lovin pups

This is a beautiful must -see for hoomans scenic drive. We saw running streams and wild elk. Gorgeous rock formations and you are above the clouds at the peak. There are many “pull over to side of road” spots to take in the glorious beauty and take photos. Dogs are welcome in these areas but not much landscape available to potty let alone romp around. That is disappointing. There are trails but again, “no dogs allowed” on the trails. It would be nice if this 44 mile roadtrip over the mountain was dog-friendly. It would not be difficult or too costly to section off an acre of land here and there for the pooches. It is not like there isn’t enough grassy area to do so. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Look for Adolph Coors statue!!

This gem is located in the historic former Capitol Building of Golden, CO. Corner of Washington and 12th street. You can see the Coors Distillery from the ample patio space for the pups. Each table with it’s designated umbrella for nice shade. Water for pups provided and the food was delicious! I recommend the Hatch green chili burger. Yum! Our friendly server was attentive to our needs and knowledgeable of the surrounding area.

Breathtaking view!

The patio area was large and dog friendly. water bowls available. lLittle chipmunks in the wild made my pups bark up a storm which we finally had them sit away from the railing so other patrons did not have to listen to their rambunctious “Imma gonna get you, chipmunks!” craziness. We enjoyed the food. smoked salmon sandwich was a favorite amongst our family. Servers were friendly and attentive to our needs. The gift shop at this place was hugggge! It looked like a Cracker Barrel gift shop on steroids! We walked away with several unique souvenirs. We would definitely go back. (See photos)

Dog-friendly Atmosphere/great food!

We ordered the chicken tacos & a pork ribs special. Both meals got two paws up from each of us! Yummy warm pretzel with melted cheese as an appetizer. So good, we ordered another! We also ordered the Blonde Ale brewed there and it was great. Pups got a bowl of fresh water without us even asking for it which was nice. The highlight of their afternoon was when a chipmunk scampered by near the patio dining area. 😂🤭. Luckily the pups were leashed as it caused quite a fun show!
