Mt Tom North Trailhead Park
Mount Tom State ReservationWe went to the area looking to hike Mt Tom itself but ended up instead at this little park. We did a short hike up to the Eyrie House Ruins, and it was awesome! Cool views and history. Just had to watch for glass on the ground around the ruins.
Yummy!
Northside CreameryThe ice cream is fantastic and I love that they have the doggie cup. My biggest complaint is that the dog cup is almost $4, same price as a kid cup, and that feels excessive. Mako does enjoy it though and I like my ice cream every time, so we still go.
It was okay
Candlewood Suites Harrisburg I-81 - Hershey Area an IHG HotelThe hotel was okay. Staff were friendly and I was grateful to have found somewhere to bring my dog. But the noises in the hallway made him anxious (not necessarily the hotel’s fault) and I kept waking up in the night because of a strong smell of weed wafting in from somewhere. Probably would look for somewhere else next time, but at least it seemed safe and got the job done.
Very friendly!
Agawam's Java StopThe girl who took my order was super friendly and the place seems to be fairly popular. I got a mango smoothie, which was delicious, and Mako got a big pup cup and some kind of turkey treat. He liked both. I just wish there was more seating.
Beautiful!
Mount Holyoke Range State ParkThe park is beautiful and the Robert Frost Trail is a great likit-pusher for someone like me, who loves hiking but hasn’t gone in a long time (grad school will do that). Mako and his little legs had a great time too! Only major complaint is that frequent gunshots from hunters made the first half of our hike far less peaceful or relaxed than it could have been. Also, like everywhere else in western Mass, mosquitoes were awful, so be prepared!
Great spot!
Jake's on DevineThis is a great place to spend time with friends and dogs. Drinks are good and fairly cheap, and they have a guy there during Yappy Hour specifically to monitor the dogs. Another dog was stalking Mako and the guy took care of it right away. We had a great time!
Cute!
Familiars Coffee & TeaVery cute little spot with a beautiful outdoor seating area that is very peaceful in the mornings. Definitely will be going back next time we are in town!
Off-Leash Trails!
Smith Vocational Agricultural FieldsMako loved running around here, frollicking in the grass and splashing around in the creek. It was a great place for him to let loose after we spent the morning downtown!
Pretty!
Stanley Parkvery pretty little park, mako loves splashing in the creek and seeing all the wildlife
Wonderful!
Northwest ParkMako and I loved our morning trip here, we went to see the farm animals and then did a short hike. There is a fenced in dog park area that we didn’t end up going to but it looked nice. Definitely will be going again!
great park!
Agawam Dog Parkbeautiful dog park with friendly people and lots of cute dogs. mako and i had a great time and will definitely keep going back!
Lovely!
Dog Park at Sesquicentennial State ParkThe park is wonderful. The trails are easy to walk and full of nature—watch out for snakes and lizards! Mako loved walking through the woods, looking at (and trying to chase) the geese by the lake, and playing in the dog park! The dog park itself is $4 to entire (on top of $6 park admission) and they need a copy of vaccination records which can be a hassle, but there was a picnic shelter there, kiddie pools, and lots of space for dogs to run. Definitely recommend!
cute store!
Mast General Storethe clothes and stuff in the store are expensive, but it is a great place to bring your dog! we attended a costume party event this past halloween and it was wonderful
small
Dog Park at Emily Douglas Parkvery small, overgrown with weeds, and it is on a hill so it is hard for dogs to run. but at least it’s free..? would recommend page ellington dog park instead, which is also free and much bigger
Super fun!
Soda City MarketI love bringing Mako here! It does get rather crowded though so I would recommend going in the morning. Also, it you have a food scavenger like mine, watch where you are walking because sometimes people drop food
Fantastic! But…
Riverfront Park & Historic Columbia CanalThis walking path is beautiful with lots of trash cans, and it even has a watering station at the front! The only thing to keep in mind is that a large portion of the path is dark concrete directly in the sun, so make sure to bring lots of water, and perhaps avoid going when it is super hot out.
Not bad
Dog Park at Page Ellington ParkA nice open space and they have water on site which is awesome. My only critiques are that the dog park area is all dirt and I wish they had separate areas for large and small dogs. But other than that it was nice and Mako and I had a good time!
