Best dog day

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

This was probably one the best experiences for our dogs. So beautiful, friendly people, nice walk to the coast/cliffs. We've been here a couple of times - May is amazing (as April showers bring May flowers)!

Best dog-friendly hotel

Holiday Inn Express Roseburg an IHG Hotel

Get a room on ground floor with separate rear door to grass areas (official pet area is at the end by #100). Was there in March so lush grass everywhere and moderate/low crowd. Probably one of the better free breakfasts, nice pool, nice people (to us and pup) plenty of restaurants in the area. Reliable 24-hour coffee/decaf/hot water. Clean. Will definitely stay again for any Interstate-5 trek. Might be better than the Grants Pass options.

Great setup for ferry to Victoria

Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles Harbor

Doing the typical CA to Victoria BC drive which includes the Black Ball Coho Ferry from Port Angeles WA. Red Lion is probably the best spot to set up for the morning ferry - car check-in lines is adjacent. Very dog friendly. Best rooms are at the ends of each building or by an exit. Every room has a beautiful balcony but none have access to grass, so proximity to an exit is critical. Enough grassy areas plus a bike trail for miles (very nice). You get a hotel parking pass - lot shares with several restaurants and wharf, which is a nice bonus. When we do this trip again, we'll certainly stay again.

Best/Most Dog-Friendly in Victoria

Inn at Laurel Point

Very nice luxury hotel with amazing views. SUPER dog friendly. Fantastic parks (plural!) steps away from each exit with miles of coastal touristy trails. Probably your best bet for dog friendly. Empress is great to visit but too stuffy for us. This turned out to be the spot. Thanks BringFido!

Peanut (the dog) loved it - humans too

Victoria Carriage Tours

Took the grand 90-minute tour with our 30 pound dog. She loved it. Lots of stimulation without being overwhelming. Humans really enjoyed the personal guided tour with great stories and history. Human Jenna and horse Tom were great. Relaxing and easy. Very nice people, horses seemed well taken care of, and a great afternoon that informed and helped plan what we wanted to do (and what we didn't because we saw it). This was March, so not too crowded.

Good stay

Oxford Suites Portland - Jantzen Beach

Very nice people. Very dog friendly. Enough grassy areas around (wouldn't call it park-like). But as some areas of Portland get dicey, this is an island on the Columbia River. Isolated from the homeless (so it seemed). Plenty of services. Great ramen, bars/pub food, close to Vancouver WASHINGTON with many lower profile GREAT restaurants. Free breakfast was better than most. NICE being outside of Central Portland - last visit was sad.

Great location

Riverside Inn

Very dog friendly. Enough grassy areas and seemed like a better neighborhood than by the freeway. Taprock restaurant across the street was very good - hotel gave us a $5 voucher. Staff is super nice. Free breakfast is always nice. Every room has a balcony overlooking the river. Dog loved it including the goodie bag. Humans too. Great stop while driving north.

Very Dog Friendly

Shenandoah Inn

Visited in December - a great time of year for the area (which gets a bit dry in summer). Beautiful scenery out the big window. Convenient dog relief areas at each end (since it's December there's actually greenery). Funny that I got the same talk about direct booking - but that's what I always do. Everyone was super friendly - even invited our dog into the lobby. Free breakfast is back. Very good restaurants all around. Nice visit for people and pets. They have a deal with CalFIRE - nice having a bunch of fire people around.

Nice historic hotel

Hotel de Anza a Destination by Hyatt Hotel

Stayed with our 30 lb 4yr old pup. Everyone was very friendly to humans and our dog, opened doors, etc. Very cool historic hotel if you're into that. Only con is closest grass area is across the street almost a block away. Noisy area but very close to San Pedro Square, a very dog friendly "going-out" area with many MANY fun bars, pubs, restaurants, even a gelato shop with two "flavors" made for dogs (ours loved the peanut butter dog gelato). Fun dog stay overall if you don't mind walking to pee.

Every dog must ride the SkyTrail!

Trees of Mystery and SkyTrail

Very very dog friendly! A great "walk" with a ride of a (dog's) lifetime on the SkyTrail. Stayed at Hotel Trees across the street (also VERY dog friendly). A rare forrest walk that welcomes dogs.

Dog friendly

Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa

Building "T" is specifically for dogs. If yours is well behaved the bottom floor has a sliding door to a semi-enclosed yard. The "pet suite" is nice. We spent half the time with the door open with pup just wandering in and out. Of course best with fewer neighbors (off season) but maybe the best setup for a well behaved dog.

Great view and VERY dog friendly

Louie Linguini's

Everyone was so welcoming to humans and canines. Nice balcony table with just enough room for our portable doggie bed. Dog menu was fun - we got pup the salmon, wild rice, and carrots (humans got fish & chips, clam linguini, and clam chowder - the classics - which were spot-on traditional). Amazing view of the Monterey Bay. What a find! Best off-season (otherwise crazy).
