Good food and patio space

Enjoyed my meal and the outdoor patio. We had options of where to sit that Saturday morning. I took my 1 1/2 old Aussie and he loves saying hi to strangers. Naturally he wanted to say hi to the people serving us but he startled the staff instead because of how quick he was approaching them. I never let him approach strangers without consent so he never got to say hi. Overall my Aussie was good while I ate.

Nice hike but parking is bad

Solstice Canyon

I got there at 9:30am on a Saturday and there was no parking. Luckily I drove the loop of the parking lot once and someone was leaving. There’s hardly any spots to park. My Aussie is still working through dog reactivity so it wasn’t the easiest hike for him since there’s really only one path. thankfully it was wide enough to allow the other dogs to pass by us. Other than that it was nice and easy. There’s a small waterfall and an abandoned home.

Great food and friendly staff

Yume Japanese Burger Cafe

I took my 11 month aussie here and the staff were very friendly. They offered to give my pup a piece of chicken but I had to decline because he’s allergic to chicken. There is a small outdoor eating area and there’s a small grass area next to the restaurant. I had the chicken sandwich and it was the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had plus the fries were amazing. I’d definitely go here again with my pup. If your dog is dog reactive this isn’t an ideal place because downtown Ojai has dogs everywhere you turn.

Good size outdoor patio

When I arrived the restaurant was full, even the outdoor patio. Lots of parking is available. Luckily we only had to wait 15 minutes. I had a nice crunchy French Toast with a sweet lemonade. It was sunny and they had no more umbrellas for my table so they used the heater to give me shade. My pup did have shade from the umbrella at the next table. The servers talked to my pup and respected my sign to not pet him.

Great place overall

Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden

I took my 5 month Aussie on a Sunday late morning. There were a couple of dogs which can be a problem as some of the paths are narrow. I’m still training my pup so a couple times I had to wait in a corner off path until the dogs or people passed by. Other than that we had a great time. There are benches and tables to sit and eat. the garden is free and we paid for parking in structure lot 2. Bathrooms are also available (the kind you have to yourself).

It was okay

Corner Bakery Cafe

We went here because we were starving and needed to find a place close by that allowed dogs. Service dogs are only allowed inside so I stayed outside with Lucky while my friend ordered for us. There were only 3 tables outside and one umbrella. Also a homeless man was smoking next to us even though there’s a no smoking sign. It’s kind of a busy street so people did walk by us on the side walk but Lucky was occupied with his bully stick. There is meter parking right in front but good lucky finding parking there. We paid for parking in the structure near Bank of America. Food was alright.

Perfect location & Delicious food!

Panelas Brazil Cuisine

This was the first time my 5 month aussie has ever been to a restaurant and he did great! They had a water bowl near the front door and a few outdoor tables. The best thing about this location is that there’s a small park immediately behind the restaurant! So before you sit at a table with your pup, they can relieve themselves. The park is literally 20 feet away. And bonus their food is amazing!!! Parking lot is small but I went on a Saturday evening and there was parking available.
