Nice stay
Comfort Suites Near Vancouver MallPet fee is $25 per night. Otherwise they have grassy areas near the entrance for pet relief so it's easy. The bed was comfortable and I slept well there. The shower pressure was good and the water stayed warm. The hotel is close to freeways and the Vancouver mall. The room also had a couch and coffee table. Good lighting with lamps.
Not the Ritz
Motel 6 Tumwater WA - OlympiaIt's the cheapest option if you can live with spartan furniture. Chairs with no cushion, bed with minimal cushion etc. The staff are helpful. Be sure to specify at check-in that you want a room with microwave and fridge as they don’t all have them. Some rooms must have new mattresses as I saw several stacked out at the trash bin. There’s a pet relief area at the back of the office side of the motel. Bring bags. Good TV with cable and HDMI port for your Roku. Rooms are clean and people have been quiet. Ask for a nonsmoking room though I heard staff tell someone to only smoke away from their room including marijuana.
Okay for a night
Motel 6 Monterey CAThe room had strong cleaning solution smell that’s hard to stay in. The furniture was beaten up. The shower leaked continuously (reported this to the desk). There were cigarette butts left around the door - not the greeting one wants after a long drive. Check-in clerk happily accommodated my request to not be on the road side of the building and room was clean. There is a vacant lot next door with grass for your dog to go. Access it from the front opposite the office.
Nice room but not for reactive dogs
Motel 6 Santa Barbara CA - State StreetThe room was better than average for this chain, but the parking was right out front so people were walking by until late, causing my dog to wake up and bark. Maybe ask for a room where your dog won’t hear that. Otherwise the location was quiet from road noise and close to restaurants.
Comfortable and safe
Extended Stay America San Diego - Hotel CircleI’ve spent a week here. I like having the kitchen so I can avoid eating out. The bed is comfortable, residents are quiet and there are blackout curtains so one can get a good night’s sleep. The staff are all kind and helpful. Parking is well lit and they have a night security guy who keeps an eye out, though the front gate gets locked around 9pm so I don’t know how anyone would get in after that. You use your room key card to open the gate, but if arriving after it’s closed, look for a call button to push and they’ll let you in. Office is open 24/7. Nice grass outside the front entrance with bags for dogs to potty. Room was very clean. Nice place to stay with your dog.
