Great Experience
Tennessee Shine CoWe stopped by with our pup Jeffery. Everyone was very friendly and loved Jeffery. We enjoyed the free tasting and left with a few purchases! We will be back the next time we are in the area.
Great Pet Friendly Store
Smoky Mountain Knife WorksThis place is HUGE. We had the best time browsing and our pup Jeffery was welcomed and made many friends while we were there. This store has a massive selection of knives, hunting items, fun signs and decor for a mountain cabin home.
Great Pit Stop
Tennessee Legend DistilleryWe enjoyed a yummy tasting, and our pup Jeffery was welcomed. Very pet friendly location and friendly staff. We will be back!
Great Experience
Tennessee Museum of AviationWe stopped by as we are aviation enthusiasts. We carried out pup in a pet backpack as dogs are allowed in if you carry them or use a stroller. The memorabilia is wonderful and the aircraft in the hanger is amazing and all airworthy. It was a little warm in the hanger as it was about 90 outside, so we shortened that portion of our visit to not overheat our pup. Overall, a great time was had by all.
Great Experience
Lookout Brewing CompanyPups are allowed inside and on the shaded patio. They have treats and water bowls set up. There is a nice variety of beer and wine as well. A food truck was on site with yummy burgers and Philly/chicken cheesesteaks. The freshly made chips are a nice compliment to your sandwich. We will definitely be back on our next trip.
Great Experience
Chimney Rock State ParkWe were able to take our pup to the top of Chimney Rock. We used out doggy backpack while up there to make it easier for him. They we walked the 1.4 mile Hickory Nut Trail to the waterfall. Our pup did great and enjoyed smelling all the new smells. The weather was beautiful, and it made for an awesome day. All the staff we encountered were super friendly.
Breathtaking Views
Mount Mitchell State ParkDogs are welcomed on all the trails but not inside any of the buildings. There were many people there with their pups enjoying the sun and the scenery. There is a snack bar and gift shop. There is also a restaurant on the way in, but it wasn't open (it was July so maybe it's only a weekend thing). We enjoyed the drive out and the short hike to the peak.
Nice Walk Along the River
Oconaluftee River TrailNice walk along the river with our pup. It's an easy walk for both you and your dogs. The only downfall is dogs cannot walk through the Indian Village but you do walk by as you make your way to the river walk.
Great Pit Stop
Innovation BrewingWe spent the morning with our pup at the Oconaluftee River Walk near Cherokee and decided to stop here after, We were allowed to bring Jeffery inside the brewery as there is no food served inside. we ordered out delicious beer and took a seat on the outside patio. There are water bowls for your pup as well. There is an onsite food truck that has hamburgers, hotdogs, sweet potato quesadillas, and more. There is also Meatballs Pizza on the other side. My husband had pizza and I had their homemade hummus plate. So yummy.
