We had the BEST time at Barkwells with our two black labs Bruce and Ben. The cabin was lovely, and the property was beautiful. Our boys ran and swam and made furry friends. We sat on the porch and drank wine, watched the birds, and went in the hot tub in the evenings. We stayed in Peppermint Patty which we liked because it’s the farthest from the entrance so the most private. It was perfect, and we will be back.

Our 2 labs were welcomed inside and given treats. Attentive staff (owners I think) Gretchen and Mike made us terrific old fashioneds (I won’t admit how many I had)and gave us excellent recommendations for hiking in the area. Chill, fun, and super dog friendly! And we bought 3 bottles of the liquor they’re making!

We stayed in the Loon cottage with our 2 labs. It was perfect!! Love the private fire pit where we hung out for many hours!

The trail is beautiful and well with the steps to get to the top! I don’t have great knees so I thought it was a bit more challenging than reviews I read but I absolutely loved every min! Bring water for pups- mine needed it multiple times along the way.
