Fine for us
Super 8 by Wyndham MarionI stayed one night with my little cavalier spaniel and it was nothing fancy, but it was economical, clean, comfortable, with grass outside for potty time. It also was a safe feeling place, which was important to me as a woman traveling alone.
Everything was great
Surf & Sand HotelWe had a perfect corner room in the back, by the pool & beach access. The room was comfortable and cheery. I had problems with the TV initially, but someone was sent over right away (even though it was 9 pm) to straighten things out. Great breakfast, with lots of variety - something for everyone. I enjoyed it so much I stayed 2 extra nights.
Strict rules
Motel 6 Baraboo WI-Lake DeltonPets are permitted with no extra fee, but I would not call it "pet friendly." On check-in, guests are required to sign a separate paper stating a lists of rules regarding pets. For example: pets can never be left alone in the room, even if crated. Owners with pets in tow are not allowed to use the main entrance or walk through the lobby. Guests with pets have to use one of the side doors. There is a grassy area in front of the hotel, but pets are not allowed there. The potty area is a back corner of the parking lot and bags and a waste can are provided there. The hotel is immaculate and quiet, and in good condition, and the room is a typical stripped down to barely furnished type Motel 6 room (e.g. no microwave). Only picked it because it's very close to Mirror Lake which we'll be visiting.
Very nice hotel with area for dogs
GrandStay Hotel & Suites Mount Horeb - MadisonThe hotel itself is very nice, with friendly staff, very comfortable beds, and a great hot breakfast. There is a large grassy area (not fenced) on the side of the hotel that can be used as a potty and exercise area for dogs.
Clean, comfortable, quiet
Motel 6 Montgomery AL - AirportThis was a bargain with a very nice room at an exceptionally low price. Everything was immaculate and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a large grass area for dogs, and a really great Mexican restaurant just down the road.
Needs work
Extended Stay America Suites Memphis AirportThe room was fine - very clean, spacious, comfortable bed. But the facility on the whole was very run down and kind of depressing. The elevator smelled so bad I'd try to hold my breath while in it. Across the street there was a grassy area dogs could use, but some people were not picking up after their dogs and in some spots there was broken glass.
