Perfect Spot for Spot
The Dimmick InnWe had the nicest lunch at the Dimmick. There is a specially designated patio for the dogs to dine with their owners. The food is delicious, the staff friendly, and the bar is stocked with all your local favorites. Otto enjoyed a burger, I had fish, and my husband enjoyed one of the specials. Milford is also dog friendly so plan to spend a couple hours enjoying this hidden gem of a restaurant and the adorable town in which it is situated when you are in the Delaware Water Gap.
Decadent Dining for Doggie and his Parents
Geno's SteaksThe steak sandwich was delicious. There is a selection of street-side picnic tables so your dog can join you at the table and have his own sandwich, just remember to order it plain, no onions and peppers for Spot!

Torpedo Factory Art CenterWE had the nicest time here, plenty of things to see, nice people, good soup and a great cup of coffee for me, time inside wandering the galleries for my dog. There were other dogs with whom to visit and some galleries even had water bowls out front so my dog could get a drink between treats. Super place to stop and just spend some time inside if you hit a rainy day like we did
Well, not so friendly
George Washington's Mount VernonThe grounds are dog friendly however you cannot go into the mansion and they won't sell you a ticket to just walk the grounds. It's a first class rip off to have to pay full price to walk around outside and not be able to take a tour. Why? Greed, that's why.

Dog Run Park at CarlyleWe had a great time here. Plenty of room for a romp, other dogs to play with and even a track to run around.

The Westin Alexandria Old TownThis is the place to stay, there's even a dog park around the corner, what more could you ask for? They provided my dog with his own comfortable bed, bowl and a matt to rest his food on. The cleaning people were respectful when we were in the room and when we were not, they were impeccable in their cleaning. The hotel doesn't discriminate and make pet owners stay in "special" rooms like some lesser properties do. You will be glad you made the time to stay here and so will your dog. Parking is expensive but there is metered parking nearby if you're an early riser like me. So grab the leash, bring a few tennis balls to share, and enjoy a little getaway here with your dog too.
