Would rather sleep in the car

The hotel had a minor refit, but still saw ceilings cracked, water stains, dirty room with a lot of dust, poorly painted, loud HVAC with poor temperature control and no way to adjust it unless the HVAC tech was on site. First night it was 92 degrees, second day 66, second night 62 and the person at the front desk suggested we just turn it off and see what happened. Loud hallways, poor sound control between rooms and no dog walking area made the stay even less pleasant for the entire family.

Perfect family vacation

The staff was exceptional. The room extremely comfortable. Dogs are allowed in the gallery outside the restaurant and on the patio. The hotel manager's dog hangs out in the lobby most days so there is someone for your dog to say hello to when passing through the lobby en route to local adventures like the dog park and brewery.

Wow, so nice

The dogs were welcome throughout the hotel and conference center. The only place they could not go was the restaurant. We enjoyed dinner and live music in the lobby bar every night together. The staff was exceptional. Perfect location in town.

Perfect place for paws

The bartender has a dog too so he is quite happy to accommodate dogs inside and on the deck. You can order a brew and get a pizza or local seafood from restaurants in the area to bring in with you. Relax enjoy and have a good time with your dogs here.

Great walking paths

A dog friendly spot to take a relaxing walk and see the tidal basin together. Walk over to the handicap access area if your dog does not like stairs.

Perfect for the pawrents and dogs

We had a great meal here. The hostess brought every dog on the patio a bowl of water, was kind to all of them and made them feel like they belonged. The waitress was very sweet, let me order hamburgers off the children's menu for my hungry little international travelers. The portable heaters above made it comfortable even for dinner at the end of october. To make it even more comfortable, the host put our soft warm blankets so after the sun went down we could stay for another round and dessert.

Off the beaten path

It is in a strip mall rather than downtown so if your dog isn't a city dog it might be better for your family. There is a shopping plaza to walk around which is well lit at night for a walk. The staff was quite nice and the room was clean, basic, and just what we needed for a quick stay en route to PEI.

Location great but don't go if you are hungry

We waited at a table for the waitress for over ten minutes, drinks were 15 later and our appetizer was almost 40 minutes later. In the hour and a half not once did she offer to refill our water cups nor about a second round. It was 91 degrees today, a second glass of anything would have been helpful. Deck is old and while covered the shade is thin and provided very little relief for our hungry dogs under the table.

Perhaps a policy change

We were turned away with our two dogs, they are not big nor rowdy and neither are we. Not sure why but won't be going back, plenty of other places to spend our time and money

Just sit in the right section

make sure you don't sit in [The staff member] section. all the other staff were wonderful with our dogs, he was horrid. We went there multiple times this winter and won't go back again unless [The staff member] is gone or there is a table elsewhere to sit with the dogs. he didn't bring water nor their dinners and was mean to them then he added insult to injury by bringing us our dinners cold. Lesson learned, ask the wait staff who is dog friendly before sitting down

Small but worth it

There is enough room to run around but be really careful, the Reach Hotel and Coconut Beach staff have NO tolerance for dogs running onto what they consider their part of the beach. The smell others mention is the sea weed which the two adjoining property staff rake onto the dog beach early in the morning. Keep the dogs away from these beach combers, they were very mean to our dogs. Bring water and food for you and your dogs, the restaurant nextdoor is not as dog friendly as it claims to be. Parking is free.

Nice place to run and play

Time your visit and be mindful of others who might be there. There are some aggressive dogs to avoid but they don't stay long so circle the block and go back. it's the perfect place to get local intel on where to take your dog. It's a safe place for hotel-bound dogs to get some well deserved play time off leash. The water is turned off at 2:30, bring your own because some days it is not on at all.

Sat down at a table and left

the wait staff refused to serve us so we got up and left. the dogs were well behaved, sitting under the table on the porch, we wanted to get lunch and they ignored us completely, never even brought water. won't be going back

Outside bar only

host was downright snide when I asked to be seated with my dogs and the only available table was by the bar "indoors" which seemed quite arbitrary. the parking lot is a good place to stand if you want to listen to the music just don't park there, it is a rip off, park on the street.

The host was horrible

By the time the snide host was done reciting his dissertation my husband had found another place to eat with the dogs. They cannot be on the patio for a meal nor inside. They can be at the bar but there is very limited seating for humans and no place for dogs to sit and relax. you can buy overpriced drinks at the bar and take them onto the beach but for these prices, a chair would be nice. If you go to dog beach, stop and get your provisions elsewhere. Louie's Backyard doesn't welcome our kind

Ate here more than once

The food was delicious and the service perfect. No kid nor dog menu per se but maybe they will if enough of us ask. They were willing to make a plain burger for my dogs. We sat at a high top table at Hanks to get our drinks and enjoy our dinner over a performance by Cliff Cody, a fellow dog owner. Hanks shares the property w Garbos

Love it and so will you

The server brought a dog bowl to the table, greeted the dogs first and was very sweet to them. We went several times and got food from Garbo's which shares the patio space with them. Dogs can also go inside which is a huge bonus.

A good time was had by all

The hostess was very sweet, gave us a nice table with room under it for both dogs st a suitable distance from all the other doggie diners. They don't have a dog menu but were accommodating when I asked for a plain burger. The waitress brought them water and was very kind to them. Our meals were very good and unlike other beach front places in the area they did not rush us out.

Dog menu is great

The staff is amazing. There are several dinner options for the dogs, my dogs tried a few and they were all enjoyed. The deck is covered so if there is rain, no one gets wet. There is plenty of room on the sidewalk for your bikes with dog trailers.

A dog walks into a bar....

Dogs are welcome inside and out at this local gem. Ordered chicken at the Granny Boo window and drinks at the bar where they have dog bowls at the ready for your fuzzy family members. Dogs of all sizes are welcome. We love this hot spot for dogs and their pawrents

Perfect Spot for Spot

We had the nicest lunch at the Dimmick. There is a specially designated patio for the dogs to dine with their owners. The food is delicious, the staff friendly, and the bar is stocked with all your local favorites. Otto enjoyed a burger, I had fish, and my husband enjoyed one of the specials. Milford is also dog friendly so plan to spend a couple hours enjoying this hidden gem of a restaurant and the adorable town in which it is situated when you are in the Delaware Water Gap.

PURFECT - four paws UP

WE had the nicest time here, plenty of things to see, nice people, good soup and a great cup of coffee for me, time inside wandering the galleries for my dog. There were other dogs with whom to visit and some galleries even had water bowls out front so my dog could get a drink between treats. Super place to stop and just spend some time inside if you hit a rainy day like we did

Well, not so friendly

The grounds are dog friendly however you cannot go into the mansion and they won't sell you a ticket to just walk the grounds. It's a first class rip off to have to pay full price to walk around outside and not be able to take a tour. Why? Greed, that's why.

PURFECT - four paws UP

This is the place to stay, there's even a dog park around the corner, what more could you ask for? They provided my dog with his own comfortable bed, bowl and a matt to rest his food on. The cleaning people were respectful when we were in the room and when we were not, they were impeccable in their cleaning. The hotel doesn't discriminate and make pet owners stay in "special" rooms like some lesser properties do. You will be glad you made the time to stay here and so will your dog. Parking is expensive but there is metered parking nearby if you're an early riser like me. So grab the leash, bring a few tennis balls to share, and enjoy a little getaway here with your dog too.
