Dogs allowed inside
Fort William Henry MuseumUnlike Fort Ticonderoga, dogs are allowed everywhere at this colonial Fort, even the gift shop. The reason for 4 bones is because they were not warning dog owners of the musket and cannon demonstrations. It would be easy to visit outside the scheduled demonstrations, but our dog was fine, as I toured inside the fort buildings/exhibits with him during the weapon firings. I didn't take him up top as the surface was too hot that day. It was still worth visiting as we learned a lot. Parking was plentiful. Bring your own water and bowels as none were provided.

Allowed inside!
The Vermont Country StoreI finally to got to go into a shop while vacationing. The Vermont Country Store allows dogs inside. It was only a little busy during the week, but I took a toy with us to keep our pooch distracted. A couple of employees came and greeted our dog and remembered his name when they saw him later. There's a big parking lot in the back, with trees and a picnic table, which we used. You can also eat at the adjacent Mildred’s Dairy Bar. Hot food available outside from the walk-up takeout window off the same parking lot and eat at a picnic table under a large tent.

Lots of parking
The GarrisonOutdoor seating on a deck. Tables have umbrellas, even the high tables. VERY dog friendly. Menu has a good variety.

Breakfast!
Biscotti Brothers CafeAll our choices were very good, even the coffee was great. Some tables are under a canopy, the rest have umbrellas. They even have a parking lot, which is not normal here. The sstaff was obviously experienced at navigating around dogs, which was a good thing since ours had no plans on moving once he got comfortable LOL.

Great Breakfast Location
Pancake ChefHighly recommend this. We liked it so much, we ate breakfast here twice on a short trip to the area. Water bowl provided for dogs on their make-shift patio, but dogs have plenty of room at each table. They have a breakfast buffet, but I had the vegan Avocado toast with a humongous fruit bowl.

Great alternative to busy Petoskey and Charlevoix
Lake Street PubEasy pet access with ramp to patio and outdoor host station. Patio covered area and tables widely spaced allowing lots of room for dogs. Good atmosphere and pub food. If you want a nice atmosphere near the water, this is worth a stop and worth the drive to escape busy Petoskey and Charlevoix.

Close to town.
Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOALots of shady campsites! Lots of guests had dogs. We used their K9 dog park several times a day. All the staff was really helpful and friendly. They keep the facilities and grounds clean and even have a recycling program, ebikes to rent, and charging stations for electric vehicles. They have everything you need for camping. Sites are level, bathrooms and showers are clean, wifi was excellent. Quick delivery of fireword and ice to the site. The nearby traffic noise didn't bother us at all, which was unexpected and I would definitely return to this campground.

Look no more for a great dog-friendly spot in the UP
Wheelhouse Diner & Goatlocker SaloonGoatlocker Saloon, in back, is the section that also serves alcohol and is dog/pet friendly. Follow the wooden fenceline to the dog entrance, then check in inside. Dogs are allowed on the concrete patio where they also serve food. Water bowls are available, and there is a faucet for refills. Food was good. Whitefish was recommended and it did not disappoint. Plenty of parking.

Easy access, good food and drink
Hopside BreweryVery pet friendly and friendly staff. Easy access off Hwy 23. Big parking lot in back with easy access to patio. They supply water bowls for dogs too. Good menu. Husband enjoyed a 6" pizza. They have great fries and one of the best black bean burgers I've had. It can be hard to find dark beer in summer, but they had it and any beer for anyone's taste.

Easy access
Schnitzelbank BiergartenVery pet friendly. They have a host station outside, so it was easy to be seated. Several employees from inside came out to say hi to Popeye. Popeye recommends the German chicken. I recommend the portobello falafel sandwich and dark German ale.
