A Delightful Neighborhood Restaurant
The Park CafeWe stumbled upon this place our first night in Charleston and it is some of the best food we had the entire trip. They have a huge outdoor space and brought ice water for our two German Shepherds. Their food is amazing and the cocktails are superb. So glad we found this puppy-friendly gem!
Friendly and Professional Service
Seaside Pet Spa PlusAfter a very fun morning in Mount Pleasant, our 2 German Shepherds were covered in sand and dirt and in real need of a bath. We stopped by Seaside Pet Spa and they were able to work us in (I know this won’t always be the case due to scheduling, but they were incredibly professional and kind while they checked their schedule availability for us). Our girls got their Express Wash with towel drying. They were treated so well and the wash was quick and very well done. It’s really telling when your pup goes back to the groomer for a snuggle before they leave. If I lived in Mount Pleasant, I would definitely take my babies here.
Disappointing
Poogan's PorchWe came in near the end of the lunch rush. The staff were pretty dismissive of us and rude. They insisted we take our dogs off the porch in a pretty brusque way. We’d heard good things so the treatment was pretty disappointing. We ended up not staying for lunch because they really didn’t seem to want us there. Sad experience.
Family and Dog Friendly!
Boar's Head Grill & TavernWe stumbled upon Boar’s Head Tavern in the heat of the day. Because they were not very busy they seated us indoors in a side room and were very gracious to our fur babies. They brought them water bowls, and gave them a slice of bacon and lots of love. The food was great, but the service was top tier. Our waiter gave us great tips on places to go in Savannah, including pet-friendly places. We will definitely go back next time we’re in Savannah.
Swig & Swine: A Great Place to Dine!
Swig & SwineFirst: this is some of the best BBQ I’ve had ANYWHERE. So. Good! Second: their covered patio is a great place to dine with your fur babies. They brought us water bowls and loved on our girls the whole time. Excellent food; excellent service; super dog-friendly.
Five Bones for the Six Pence!
Six Pence PubThis is an iconic location in Savannah, and I was thrilled to find it was dog friendly. They sat us outside and brought water for our dogs (we used our own travel bowls) and treated us very well. The food was great and the atmosphere of the Six Pence was not dampened by being seated outside.
Excellent Service and Food
Collins QuarterWe ate at the downtown location on Bull Street. I think some of the reviews and photos here are for the Forsythe park location. The Downtown location was excellent. We were seated right away and given water for our 2 German Shepherds. The outside table was comfortable in the evening and the restaurant had tall fans on either end to cool the area more. The food and cocktails were great! And all of the staff were very loving to our girls, including bringing them treats that they keep on hand from the dog bakery next door.
Great Food and Staff
Mex 1 Coastal CantinaIncredible food on a puppy-friendly porch! We went to Mex 1 for lunch and it was delicious! They gave our fur babies water and lots of love. Will definitely go back here next time we’re in Charleston
Spacious Patio and Friendly Service
Crave Kitchen & CocktailsCrave has a huge outdoor patio. The servers brought my girls water bowls immediately and treated them so well. The food and cocktails are delicious. The patio isn’t covered but there’s shade provided by the building and some trees. We were there in the afternoon and it was nice and cool.
Wonderful Place to Stay with your Fur Baby
Thompson Savannah Part of HyattWe absolutely loved the Thompson Savannah! We brought our 2 German Shepherds and they were well-loved during our visit. The rooms are comfortable and there’s a huge green space outside the hotel for walks and relief. The hotel restaurant is not dog-friendly, but that didn’t really affect us at all. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The service was excellent and we felt our babies were well loved here. Will definitely stay here again!
Great Carriage Tour
Old South Carriage CompanyWe called to see if this tour company was dog friendly because we’d heard and seen great things about how they treat their horses. They welcome pups as long as they are comfortable around horses (ours are). Our dogs are big, so bought an extra seat for each dog (at a lower cost). The tour was excellent and the staff were so friendly and sweet to our girls, giving them water and lots of pets. We ended up doing their ghost tour and their history tour because of how good they were to their horses and our dogs. Definitely 5 bones!
Worth it for the Gullah Presentation
Boone Hall Plantation & GardensWe spent about a half day here. It’s very dog friendly with the only places not open to dogs being the main house and the slave dwellings, each of which has been converted into a small museum space on different topics of the enslaved peoples’ culture. There is a Gullah culture presentation several times a day and it is excellent. It’s held at an outdoor theater so our pups were able to join us. The house tour is brief and not really worth it, but the grounds are amazing and very dog-friendly. Overall a fun day.
Surprising Find Just off the Highway
Frampton Plantation HouseWe were looking for a place to stop and stretch our legs and happened upon the Frampton House Museum. This historical site has an incredible Harriet Tubman statue that you shouldn’t miss! The grounds are dog friendly and the house allows dogs in if they are calm and well-behaved. There’s also a walking trail if you have more time for your stop.
