Dog friendly patio

Very welcoming to our dog, gave her biscuit which looked homemade. Offered her water but she already had. Great food selection for non vegans. Since we are vegans we could only get small salads. They had non-alcoholic Athletic Beer which were delicious. Music was on the loud side, almost annoying. Trumpet player was good but too loud. Waiter was very friendly.

No outdoor dog area

Hotel was technically dog friendly and room was decent, but outdoor area was definitely not dog friendly. No grass area to walk dog. We had to walk down the block to find areas that resembled grass. Some areas were a little sketchy. Check-in and checkout process was super easy. Didn’t encounter any staff which was fine for us. Room was nicely decorated but bathroom was very old, small and showering was a challenge and we aren’t big people. Shower floor was peeling off paint and rusted so we wore sandals. No area in bathroom for necessities. Considering hotel was near all the attractions and a motel style setup it was fairly quiet but could have been the AC drowning out the noise.

Not truly dog friendly

We decided to stay in Carolina Beach to see something different on way home from Hilton Head(which is extremely dog friendly). We researched Carolina Beach to make sure it was dog friendly but we quickly realized and wasn’t fully dog friendly. When walking to restaurants and boardwalk area there are signs everywhere for no dogs. Even the streets around boardwalk at no dog signs. We had to walk and explore on our own to find entrance to beach that allowed dogs after 5pm. Beach was nice but not anything compared to Hilton Head Island. Happy we experienced a new area but won’t be back.

Aggravating…

Took pup to try to avoid the crowds at the other beaches. It was around 7:00pm on a monday night in June and it was crowded and tide was low so it was extremely muddy and mucky. We went to leave after getting our sandals stuck in mud and as a result getting mud kicked up the back of us. My dog was full of mud and they only had one shower that everyone was trying to use at same time. Not worth the aggravation.
