Superb food, dog-friendly patio with shade

Loved our lunch so much at Farlow’s that we went back later in the week for dinner. Wonderful patio, dog-friendly, superb food with SO many choices and helpful staff (Thanks Lexie & Tonee). Depending on day/time you plan to visit, I recommend you make reservations. We stopped by one evening w/o reservations and the wait was over an hour so we decided to eat elsewhere that evening and reserve a dog-friendly table on the patio for lunch later in the week. Lunch was lovely with great weather to sit outside, umbrellas for shade if needed. I enjoyed the Loveland Bay Peach & Mahi Salad (mahi perfectly grilled) while my husband enjoyed the True Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich. Started with Coconut Shrimp as appetizer and the shrimp were perfectly done with a delicious sauce. On our dinner excursion, we tried two tasty dishes: hogfish and Kentucky Chicken & Waffles (very generous portion). We were too full to eat dessert at Farlow’s so we took it with us and found the pina colada cheesecake and blueberry pie were excellent.

Excellent, dog-friendly outdoor dining experience

Great food (Caesar crab & shrimp salad and brisket), friendly staff (thanks Heather) and dog-friendly with tables in the shade.

Upon arrival, we were notified the estimated wait time for a table (outdoors and in the shade) was 45 minutes. Having read good things about Pink Elephant, we decided to wait and were happy we did so. Restaurant provided text confirmation so we were able to walk our dog around the neighborhood to entertain ourselves. Caesar Crab & Shrimp salad was fresh, delicious and with ample serving of seafood. Brisket was nicely prepared. Salad paired with a glass of Villa Maria (they served the glass with a cute little plastic pink elephant on the rim) & brisket paired with a bottle of Stella. It was a leisurely lunch to enjoy with our Labrador Retriever without feeling rushed by the staff at all.

AMAZING view, great service, terrific food, and dog-friendly

Loved our meal at Beachcomer! Sunset Salad with grilled fish for me and Beachcomer Fish Sandwich for my husband. The grouper in both our meals was perfectly grilled and portions were generous. As mentioned in another’s review, you place your order at window and are given a number plaque, you then select a table and place the number plaque on it and a delightful employee brings your meal to you. Cute colorful tables with options for shade (umbrellas) or no shade as you choose. All staff we met were helpful, efficient & polite. We were thrilled that they allowed leashed dogs at the outdoor seating. Parking is very limited but we were able to find a parking space at the restaurant. You also could park in Englewood Beach public parking and it’s a very short walk to the restaurant. Highly recommend!!

Triple D for sure: Delicious food, Delightful employees, Dog-friendly

Indigo Coastal Shanty is just perfect! Afterwards we found out they would be featured in a March 2024 episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and could completely understand why they were selected to be part of the Flavortown lore. Food - exceptional, staff – great, and atmosphere –fun especially with the amazing tree in the outdoor seating area. We checked with hostess to confirm that outdoor seating was still dog-friendly and were seated promptly. Our waitress Maddie provided great service and was personable as well as efficient. Some restaurants are dog tolerant (which we still appreciate). The Shanty was dog-FRIENDLY. We had brought our own water/bowl for our dog but still appreciated that they offered us some. They even offered our Lab a doggie food bowl with chicken & rice and he greatly enjoyed it.
We, humans, found the Charleston Saute to be incredible with the shrimp perfectly cooked and I think I’ve become a fan of fried okra thanks to them. We got a chance to chat with Gustavo briefly and were super impressed with him and the entire experience. Highly, highly recommend.

Lovely & relaxing dog-friendly patio with delicious sandwiches

Lovely patio to enjoy delicious lunch with our Labrador retriever. My husband and I both got the Deli Rose sandwich which was warm and tasty. Good sized portion. Ordered inside and a delightful employee brought the meals out to us when ready. We had brought our own water/bowl for our dog but still appreciated that they offered us some. Outside temperature was warm enough to sit outside but we were glad to see they had heaters just in case it would have been chilly. While we didn't eat inside b/c we had our Lab with us, we took turns going inside to see the beautiful wood work and decorations. Thanks Yellow Deli!

Dog-friendly patio (sheltered porch) with delicious food

Great sheltered porch/patio to enjoy delicious brunch with our Labrador retriever. My husband and I split the Grit Bowl with scrambled egg, Fried Chicken Biscuit with Hot Honey and Warm Donuts. Good sized portions. All food was delicious and we appreciated having Kylie as our server.

First class service, terrific food with generous portions, lovely sunset view and super dog-friendly

We checked with hostess to confirm that their outdoor seating was dog-friendly and were seated right away next to a heater which was nice on a cool evening with the sun setting. The sunset was just lovely. Our waiter Colby provided first class service and was personable as well as efficient. Some area restaurants are merely dog tolerant (which we still appreciate) but The Waverly was dog-FRIENDLY. We had brought our own water/bowl for our dog but still appreciated that they offered us some and were tickled by the attention several staff members paid to our Lab. They also had live music which was enjoyable, a bit loud but not obnoxious. My husband ordered a club and I ordered a burger. Both were terrific and portions so generous we had leftovers for lunch the next day. We were stuffed but when Colby tempted us with “shareable” carrot cake, we decided to take some to go. They are not kidding about “shareable” – we each had TWO dessert servings out of it. Thanks so much Colby and the rest of the staff for a lovely & memorable evening.

Triple D for sure: Delicious food, Delightful employees, Dog-friendly

When coming to visit SSI, I was excited to try Porch which had recently been featured on Triple D (The Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives"). Terrific lunch at Porch! Greeted upon arrival by Amanda who was friendly, efficient & personable. We had our Lab with us so we sat outside. Always thrilled to have a dog-friendly restaurant so we can enjoy a meal without leaving our pup behind. I did not see any umbrellas or shade at the picnic tables which was not an issue as we were there in early March but something for dog parents to check out before going in high heat of summer.
We had brought a water bowl for our Lab but there was also one provided and of course our pup was not interested in either water bowl with chicken on the menu. I went inside to order and they brought the food out to us when it was ready (very prompt). I ordered the Big White and couldn't decide on Naked or Novice and took Amanda's suggestion to have one of each. Chicken was fried to perfection and my sides were grits & mac & cheese. My husband had the Big Dark Nashville hot, which has a good amount of heat, and beans and coleslaw. All our sides were excellent! GREAT value with plenty of leftovers. We’re planning on going back to try the roast (vs. fried) chicken. Highly recommend!
