This place is amazing but a bit hard find once past the gate.

We loved this! The website gives great directions about going to the South parking lot but on the main road in after we paid at the entrance there was no sign to turn off the main road. The south parking if the first left you can make after the main entrance, after that lots of signs to Off Leash. We were there for 2+hours, hiked and let our dog swim. The beer is nice! And I also bought a dog beer which my dog loved.

Pets tolerated

If you stay at a Kimpton then stay here you will understand why I say ‘tolerated’ instead of welcomed. Also fee was $50/night max of $150. As a hotel in general I think it’s OK, we had a large corner room but it’s showing its age. The indoor pool was gross, looked like lake water. The outdoor pool is the Sheraton’s pool but it was fine.

Nice outdoor patio, room for doggo

We went for dinner and while it's been pretty hot in Charlotte, we took our dog. The patio is completely shaded by the building at night and they have umbrellas. The tables are generously spaced so out dog wasn't cramped. There is also a small courtyard where you could quickly walk your dog. The service is very good and the food is always good and it comes out quick.

Great location but don't go with dog alone

The ONLY reason I'm marking this a 4 bone is because you have to go inside to order and dogs are not allowed inside. I'm completely fine with the rules but think people should know that before going. I went here by myself with my dog and was trying to figure out what to do when I really nice couple asked to pet my dog, who is crazy friendly with no separation anxiety, so I they kindly watched my dog while I popped inside to order. I could keep an eye on everything the whole time just couldn't bring dog inside.

The outdoor area is very dog and people friendly, there are bowls and water for dogs. All the dogs I've encountered here have been well behaved.

First visit, we will be back

We went for a late Sunday brunch with our dog Wells, who is 44 lbs. Nearly the entire restaurant is outdoor/patio seating but it's first come, first sit. We were seated quickly and had a great meal. The bloody mary is quite good.
