Carla
My name is Carla & my best friend's name is Kippy. We love going on adventures, but only if we can do them together!

Pups and Brews
Quaker Steak & LubeFirst off, it was great that our dog was allowed in the main building. Great aesthetic and craft beers. Reasonably priced. We went at a time when it wasn't busy & were able to sit on a sofa. I'd imagine it gets very crowded. You might want to judge by your dog's temperament. We brought our own water for Kippy (aka Fido).
Beyond Accommodating
Sugar Hill Brewing CompanyThis place was fantastic! We called ahead, and they set up a tent especially so we could bring our dog! He even got a water dish. The food was delicious & the craft brews were outstanding, as well. This is a great little gem I'm the middle of nowhere.
Cute Rooms!
Western Front HotelHere, you get a cabin feel without driving to the Great Smoky Mountains. Don't let the outside of this building fool you. The inside holds the magic. I'm giving 4 bones because there was no microwave in the room to prepare some of the food I'd brought my dog, and the pet fee is higher than other hotels of equal stature we've visited.
This Suite is Sch-weet!
Sleep Inn & Suites ClintwoodSuper dog friendly & low pet fee compared to other places. My dog loves cats & there happens to be a rescue cat here that "works" reception. He was at ease right away. Huge room with lots of play space. I didn't even need his dog food because there was such an extensive breakfast buffet!
Not dog friendly, barely people friendly
Jenny Wiley State Resort ParkThis junk pile shouldn't even be listed on here! For example, the trail next to our ludicrously overpriced "dog friendly" cottage was shut down beca use of black bear sightings. The List could go on forever. Don't make my mistake.
Horrendous!
Sonic Drive-InThey are not dog friendly at all. No one even acknowledged we had a dog. We asked twice for a small cup of ice cream to include him in the experience. The car hop quit even coming to our vehicle. We then had to go through the drive through & presented a ridiculous ice cream cone that a grown man couldn't eat (see pic). Also, our "people food" was revolting. My chicken sandwich didn't even contain chicken. It was all breading. Never again.
Classic Comfort
The Inn at WiseThere are 4 pet friendly rooms available for small pets with a $25 fee for the first pet & an additional $10 fee for a second pet, 2 max. The rooms are beautiful & spacious, including all necessary amenities & then some. P.S. The bed feels like a cloud. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They made myself and my dog feel very welcome. Also, room service is available 😊
Cool Courtyard
The Pub and Tap RoomYou can select your seating in a lovely secluded courtyard as music plays. The food was delicious, not your typical "bar food". The staff was very friendly and attentive, talking to our dog & even showing us pics of their own dogs. My only complaint is that it was initially hard to get anyone's attention to place an order.
Less than average
Econo Lodge Inn & SuitesVery overpriced. Barely any basic television channels. Their floor length mirrors had my poor dog convinced he had an evil nemisis on our visit.
One Stop Shop
Petsense NortonThis area desperately needed a pet store. Petsense more than fits the bill. They have great sales & a very knowledgeable staff. My dog has very bad nerves, and his groomer, Kaylyn, is wonderful with him. I don't what he or I would do without her. She even went out of her to design him a special bunny tattoo for Easter. Everyone should, also, check out the wonderful PAWS cats that are available for adoption. If you love your pet, pay them a visit.
Mother Nature's Fireworks
Little Stony National Recreation TrailWe went on a 4th of July picnic here. The Falls are breathtaking. We hiked and swam. Kippy even made a new friend!
NEVER AGAIN!
Super 8 by Wyndham Norton VAI'd choose 0 bones if I could. I went to pick up Kippy's food dish & it was teeming with ants. There were so many there were actually falling from the dish and crawling up my arms. I took the dish to the front desk and was promptly brushed off. I can't say enough bad things.
Relaxing & Spicy
El Dorado GrillI was thrilled to find a restaurant in Wise where I could take Kippy, let alone one with such wonderful food & drink. They're secluded outdoor patio was so quiet that Kippy fell asleep in my lap as we dined. I thoughly wiped off a piece of chicken to give him as a treat for being such a good boy. He immediately spit it on the ground! Kippy's vote? Too spicy! :p
