Very kind staff and very dog friendly.

This hotel is in a very urban area of Eagan and the dog walking areas are littered with cigarettes, trash and dog poop (see pic). You have to walk between a parking garage and a fence to get to the dog area.
And we stayed for a week with well-behaved dogs but they are terriers that bark when someone knocks on the door. I was in the hotel room alone with them when a staff member from the hotel knocked on the door. For safety, I do not open hotel doors to strange men so he went back to the front desk and called me. I explained that we had been there a week and no one had complained and he said that he didn’t believe me and argued with me. It was very disrespectful and we would have left if we were not leaving the next day. Our stay included teenagers running up and down the hall and rap music blaring all hours of the night, but they were complaining about our dogs who we paid extra so they could stay there. If they do not want dogs, they should change their policies.

We love Hampton Inn and try to stay there as much as possible. But construction noise and dogs don’t mix. Perhaps just allow them after everything is brand new.

Very clean and relatively new hotel. Small pond in back to walk dogs around and poop can. Also good bar-b-que place nearby.
