Cozy and Friendly

The rooms were very spacious!!! Lots of room for our dogs and their beds. Laminate flooring (which meant that our old dog couldn't walk without us laying islands of blankets). We were put on the second floor, but the stairs were carpeted, and the entrance was through the main doors and wooden stairs to the balcony. The shared kitchen and living room were lovely, but we didn't get a chance to enjoy them (such a short visit). The rooms were a bit tired, and exposed piping made it seem a little run down, but still so sweet. The best things were the kind people who ran the place and stayed there, and the amazing breakfast!!! Homemade preserves and pastries!

A Bit Sleezy, But...

Motel Rideau

... the property is along the river, and they have a freeman area with a garden and a gazebo and table and chairs by the water. The view is to forested areas on the other side of the river. The room was tiny, with laminate flooring. All rooms were on the first floor and can be driven up to (in the true motel style). I read reviews on google beforehand and they warned that the motel charges by the hour or by the night. Yes, they have a “siesta” rate, and an overnight rate. And yes they have to buzz you in to get to reception. But the managers were really nice, they have 2 (soon to be 3) dogs of their own (which I didn’t get to meet, sadly). The room had a TV, fridge, and microwave. Reception had coffee you could buy, as well as snacks.

Nice Room!

This was a nice stay. Room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The stay came with a free breakfast (cereal, pastries, toast, waffles, yogurt, muffins, bagels, eggs, sausage, coffee, tea, and juice). Only downside was that we were put on the second floor, and we did not see an elevator. With one of our dogs being old, it was hard on her. Not to mention we had to leave the stroller in the car and carry our 4-month-old up and down the stairs.
It was traditional motel style, where your door opens to the outside, rather than having to go through the lobby all the time. The staff were all lovely.
