Hey! My name is Kaity. I'm a wife, a teacher, and mom to an 80lb retired greyhound named Dale. I also spend a lot of time with my parents dogs, two perfect small mix breeds named Gypsy and Frodo. All three love romping in the yard and zooming through the house, but only Dale loves to travel! We hope to share many experiences and adventures together.

BEST BEACH EVA

Edisto Island

So, we love Edisto and just brought our dog for the first time. He LOVED it. Great place to meet people and pups, he was able to interact with wildlife and play in the water. The main beach has waves to chase and the sound is calm and wonderful for a swim or float. Plus because it is an uncommercialized island it isn't too busy and has some amazing, dog friendly places to eat. We had SO much fun, and so did Dale.

Yum

McConky's Jungle Shack

As always, food was DELICIOUS. We were seated on the porch with our pooch, and although they were very busy they brought him a bowl of fresh water. They have a great place to wait if you can't get a table right away with lots of shade and lawn games.

Clean and Comfy

Best Western Charleston Inn

I'll start by saying that I am very picky about cleanliness and about where I sleep. However, I was very pleased with this motel! Despite having carpeting, the room smelled fresh and clean. The bathroom area was spotless and we could smell a trace of cleaners which always makes me happy! Housekeeping was excellent and vaccuumed/cleaned bathroom and sink areas daily. Beds, pillows, and linens were comfy. Breakfast was plentiful, with eggs/omelettes, bacon/ sausage, potatoes/biscuits and gravy, waffles and pancakes, various breads/pasteries, grits/oatmeal, yogurt/fruits, and lots of drink choices. They had an outside patio where you could have breakfast with your dog, and a couple smallish areas designated for going potty with bags and receptacles. The outside entry to the rooms made taking your dog to use the restroom a breeze. They were so kind to our Dale and went out of their way to make him feel welcome, as well as gave him some yummy and healthy treats. The area felt safe and there were several places to eat nearby, with about a 15 minute drive to the historic district and nearby beaches. Only downside was getting in and out of the hotel because the Savannah Highway is busy. Sometimes it would take us 5 minutes just to get on or off of the road, or we would have to go turn around and come back. It wasn't a big deal for us, but if you are a nervous driver it's something to consider. I am getting too long winded though. It was a great, clean, and comfotable stay. Would recommend and would stay again!
