Dog friendly
Travelodge by Wyndham Lake HavasuAshley was a breath of fresh air on a extremely hot day. She found my Wyndham rewards account which allowed us to check in early without a $30 fee. The Tesla charger use, very convenient, cost $30, double the amount of a full charge at a supercharger. The welcomed air conditioning was very loud. Good shower once the water got warm. A final bonus was the fabulous Italian restaurant on the backside of the Travelodge, Angelina’s.
Too hot for comfort
Best Western Plus Rio Grande InnLoud air conditioning unit that could not be adjusted for noise or temperature. Good shower and nice size room.
Lovely cottage
Sweetwater Branch InnSweetwater Branch Inn is the most wonderful place we stayed during this long road trip from California to Florida and back home to California. Besides a superb dog-friendly cottage near a park, breakfast was amazing. Gourmet breakfast and pastries in a charming vintage house. Blue Bayou had a good time too.
A fine old classic hotel
Drury Inn & Suites San Antonio RiverwalkA dog friendly hotel with a large parking garage here unbelievable river walk. It was a perfect place to spend the night. It was a perfect place to walk the dog to a wonderful restaurant across an arched bridge, dedicated to Robert Hugman, the designer of the Riverwalk.
10 bones wouldn’t be enough!
Hotel Peter and PaulThe hotel had been the school house for the Peter and Paul Church. Large bedroom with sitting area, a large desk, large bathroom with shower and a claw foot bath tub. Drinking glasses, not plastic. Small refrigerator with small freezer. French doors with surface slide bolts that open to brick driveway. Fabulous restaurant next door at what had been the Rectory. Dog-friendly outdoor tables. We had a memorable evening. Blue Bayou loved it too.
It will do
Best Western Plus Fort Stockton HotelNothing special, just a good bed, a desk with a low chair that couldn’t be adjusted, and a decent shower. There is a dog run split down the middle with one side for large dogs and the other side for small dogs. I only saw two large dogs there in the evening. There were no dogs at all on either side in the morning.
Fabulous hotel
FOUNDRE PhoenixA most interesting place. Room was spacious, bed comfortable. Blue liked sleeping under the bed.
What a gem!
The Chateau at Lake La QuintaWe came in June when most people don’t, so we pretty much had the place to our selves. Lovely, clean, dog friendly. The patio on the lake behind the hotel was delightful. We had cocktails and a light dinner. Blue gives it 5 bones.
Good for dogs
Surf InnGualala on Highway 1 has no super chargers. We fully charged our Tesla in Petaluma. There is a charger for all electric vehicles near the office. The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The shower delivered hot water; however, my husband complained that the shower was too low for him.
