great dog park
Kauai Humane Society Dog Parkthis is probably the largest dog park you could find, it covers several acres, larger than a football field. the small dog side is very large. tropical setting bordering local farms. typically there aren't more than 5-8 [well behaved ] dogs there.
you can take a shelter dog on a field trip to the beach or a hike, pick your pup and get a welcome bag next door at the KHS Shelter or take a dog home with you. see Facebook-Kauai Humane Society
there's a local group of volunteers that walks the dogs on the weekends. Facebook-Running Club at KHS, Kauai Animal Welfare Society - KAWS.
great food, pet friendly
Otentic Fresh Food Restaurantoutside seating in front, and in the hotel courtyard. service dogs welcome inside. food is outstanding and very moderately priced for the quality, 5 stars
great dog park
South Pointe Park Bark Parkunfenced and unsegregted, all the dogs are welll behaved, owners monitor their dogs. big dogs and little dogs all get along, great views. busiest at sundown. not real spacious. there is a large drainage grate in the middle of the park that seems dangerous to me.
beach, great place for dogs
Haulover Parkthe desc is correct as of Jan 4 2020. 'Dogs are also welcome on the beach, near lifeguard tower #3, seven days a week from 8am-3pm. This portion of the beach is directly across from the bark park and also accessible through parking lot #3 and #4.'
i saw pits and pit mixes. they were welll behaved, one got a little unruly and the owner took him for a time out and came back later. all the owners monitored their dogs, little dogs and big dogs all got along the shoreline was shallow so was good for first time swimmers. park rangers kick all the dogs out at 3 pm. this is a very small portion of the the beach, once the dogs left there were only a handful of people on the entire beach. doesn't make any sense to boot the dogs at 3pm. working people need to bring their dogs after work
