the vibe at this spot is stellar. not only is this pizza seriously the best pizza in the Bay Area (coming from a pizza addict) the dog friendly picnic style dining is super dog friendly. must go.

Great Location

Whitney Peak Hotel Reno, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Pros:
- there is a sweet little dog park on the adjacent block. Quick access and well maintained. (June 2020- dates because we all know urban dog parks often get gobbled up by developers)
- you can leave well behaved dogs in the rooms
- The “RENO” sign it literally at the entrance of the hotel, so it is very centrally located to all of down town.
-the rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable
- there is aN outdoor Rock Climbing wall if you’re into that

Cons:
The pet fee is exorbitant, but unfortunately not too far off for other pet friendly hotels down town.
- not sure if they have ‘pet floors’ but floor 9’s hallway was HEAVILY drowned in pet deodorants. Nauseating. But the room it’s self not so bad.
- They were at very low capacity as we visited just 20 days after the COVID reopening... BUT nothing seemed to work! The battery in our key card lock was dead and we had to wait in the hallway, with our dogs who just drove 600 miles with us, for 18min for maintenance To show up. The hallway was hot and smelly and I was tired. But maintenance was nice and quick once at our room.
- the bathroom fan did not work and there was distinct mildew smell
-the drains didn’t drain well and the toilet did a strange thing every time it flushed. Making you wait a fairly long time to make sure it didn’t flood your room!

Overall, based on this experience, we would try a different spot next time rolling through Reno. Mostly because it was just so expensive for a sub par experience. But I also don’t regret it. Anywhere my dogs can be comfy and sleep off a long day while we go play is a win in my book.

Dogs Friendly.

49'er Inn & Suites

Bone reviews are ALWAYS about the Boobers (dogs) so this place gets four bones because we could leave the dogs in the room, we were placed in a corner room to limit dog distractions, the relief area was adequate with Real grass and there were no passive aggressive signs about what you can and can’t do with your pups. Plus the pet fee was reasonable. Also The bed was super soft and the dogs and us alike enjoyed that. - location is good. Very easy walking to down town Jackson. Amenities were lacking and service was fairly absent but overall happy with our stay. (Cable didn’t work, inadequately stocked bathroom for length of stay, no change machine in laundry room, low quality toiletries and coffee supplies - when you could even get them) but cozy and friendly.
