Excellent - best part of our trip
Needles HighwayThe area is so beautiful. Let your dogs heads out the window and they will be so mentally stimulated and sleep so hard that night (or immediately after like mine did) ALSO as a bonus, if you couldn't get into Mt Rushmore because of the dogs, you get a better view of it on this drive.
Happy Travels!
Great! only get out at certain areas
Custer State ParkThis was a perfect stop to get out for a little bit. Terrain is a mis of grassy and rocky but it doesn't take any significant skill to mosey around. MOST of the park is for driving through unless you are doing something specific like kayaking.
Good If Your Desperate
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Cheyennecheaper than surrounding options but there is no decent grassy area near by. The area that does have gas is an old closed down Denny’s next door. on that grass is also broken beer bottles and other trash.
I would suggest passing on this place if you can pay a little more money to other hotels.
Very Good
Nancy Mockler Dog Parktraveling with our Great Dane and two Irish Wolfhounds, this was a great find. huge space for them to run and burn off energy.
they provide grocery bags for poop bags and for the most part, at least during our visit, there wasn’t an abundance of poop on the ground.
Very easy to get to, with clear signage.
