Fabulous dinner in a lovely setting
DiSalvo's RestaurantEverything about our experience at DiSalvo’s was great! The outside patio was charming, and our pup found a stick by our table which was perfect to distract her while we ate. Our meals and drinks were also excellent. Service was friendly and attentive.
Food was exceptional!
Turkey Hill Brewing CompanyThe patio was small but accommodating. Our dog didn’t get any special treatment, but she seemed welcome enough. The food was fantastic, which is why we’ll definitely return.
The best cocktails with your best friend
Big Spring SpiritsBig Spring Spirits is one of the best places in the area for cocktails, so when the weather is good, it’s a perfect place to enjoy with your dog. The dog friendly picnic table area is comfortable enough, and there’s a communal bowl for use. Talleyrand Park makes a lovely backdrop while drinking and an even better place to walk your dog afterward.
Super dog friendly!
Hublersburg InnHublersburg Inn is an all around excellent dog friendly pick. Our dog Maya was greeted with dog treats and a water bowl, and we were greeted with attentive service. The setting was lovely and the food was good.
Dog friendly beach
Sunset BeachDogs are allowed on the beach before 11 and after 4. We got there at 10:00. we didn’t stay long because it was already hotter than blazes in the early August heat wave! The beach itself is ok. There were lots of stones, which I like to collect but not walk on.
So dog friendly!
Cape May Winery & VineyardI was so impressed with the winery’s aesthetic as well as how accommodating they were in seating us with our dog.
So welcoming to our dog!
Historic Cold Spring VillageCold Spring Village featured craft demos the weekend we went. All craftspeople were responsive to our dog, and one of them spoke directly to her while our dog listened intently! Excellent place for both dogs and humans to visit.
Great dog friendly cruise
Cape May Whale WatcherWe went on the dolphin sunset boat cruise with our dog. We tried to sit on the top deck, but there were already too many dogs up there! we opted instead for the lower deck on the right side, and it worked out perfectly for us. It was narrow passage for people to walk past us, but we just had Maya sit next to us on the bench to give other passengers room to pass. Maya did great on the cruise, and we enjoyed seeing numerous dolphins while the sun set. A magical time!
Stella’s is stellar for dogs!
Stella's CafeStella’s welcomes dogs on its beautiful patio. They promptly brought out a bowl of ice water and had a separate dog menu with tasty treats.
Not welcoming
Red Dot Restaurant & BarWhen we were seated with our 30 pound terrier mix in their beautifully shaded patio, we soon realized the space was too tight and there was no where for our dog to sit but in the walkway (the first strike). One of the waitresses had to walk past our table to get to another table, and our dog barked two quick, short barks as she approached. Though our dog was on a tight leash and didn’t jump on her, the waitress snidely said she’s afraid of dogs (the second strike). Shortly after, our waiter came to us and said that if the dog barked again, we would be asked to leave. So, after that third strike and feeling humiliated, we packed up and left. Red Dot may allow dogs, but they are NOT friendly to all dogs. Skip this place and go elsewhere to true dog friendly places in Hudson, such as American Glory.
The Kimpton Aims To Please!
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh an IHG HotelWe stayed at the Kimpton for one night. Upon check in, the staff was welcoming to us even with with a wet, barking dog. A plush doggie bed and two dog bowls were waiting for us in the room. The hotel felt luxurious but didn’t charge any pet fee. My only concern is the only nearby green space was closed. Thankfully our pup adapted and used the alley for her potty breaks.
Good Location For People
Aloft Newport On the LeveeAloft is in a great location in Newport by the levee. The dog friendly Hofbräuhaus is across the street, and the People Purple Bridge is next to the hotel. My only gripe with the location is there are zero grassy areas on the property or even on the block. To get to a grassy area, you have to cross a rather busy street and walk a bit. Just outside the hotel, there are a few trees that have mulch embedded in the sidewalk, and there’s an landscaped area with rocks, so those will do in a pinch for emergencies.
