We recently stayed at this hotel over the July 4th weekend and we appreciated how dog friendly it was overall. The staff was welcoming to our pup, and it was nice to see other dogs around the property—it definitely made for a relaxed, pet-friendly atmosphere.

That said, there were a few drawbacks. Despite the dog-friendly vibe, dogs weren’t allowed on the outdoor patio during food service hours, so we were unable to dine at the hotel. This was a bit disappointing since the patio seemed like the perfect place for guests with pets.

There was also a $30 per night pet fee, which felt a bit steep considering the limited dining flexibility for pet owners. Lastly, we heard that the hotel is expected to change ownership in November, and it’s unclear whether it will remain dog friendly. If traveling with a pet, it might be worth double-checking the policy before booking after that time. All in all, a good stay for pet owners—for now—but with some caveats.

We love visiting MJs during the summer months when the patio is open! It’s a beautiful, riverfront restaurant that welcomes dogs with open arms! As soon as we arrived, our server brought Daisy a bowl of water! We didn’t even need to ask for it! The food is absolutely fabulous and the drinks are amazing! We ordered an extra chicken breast for Daisy and she loved it! We highly recommend MJs if you’re in the Owego area…you will love it! ❤️🐾

Our room (132) was right next to a field so this made walking and toileting our dog super easy! The rooms are older but very clean, exceptionally friendly staff, and the hotel is right across the street from Appalachian Brewing Company which is such a great, dog friendly restaurant! It was a win, win mini vacation for us and our dog!

Amazing food and amazing drinks! They love dogs and bring a big bowl of cold water and a biscuit when you arrive! ❤️
