Great place for dogs!

What a great place to stay on Route 66, especially if you have a dog! They had contactless check in and the place was so cute and retro. One of the employees contacted me prior to us getting there and was super friendly and explained everything. When we got there, there was a little note for our dog with doggie towels, water bowl and treats, moon pies for us. They have a fantastic fenced in, well lit dog area with poop bags, water and picnic table. Definitely would stay here again when passing through. On the positive note, the parking lot and dog area were well lit and felt very safe, on the negative, we could of used better blinds to block out some of that light for sleepy time. Overall, a fantastic place!

Great large park

Waggin’ Trail Off Leash Dog Park

We are in from out of town and after lots of long days in the car, this place was a great place for some much needed exercise. It is a big park, nicely mowed, has obstacles for the dogs and a great walking track for the Hooman's. There was plenty of water and it was super clean. We will definitely be back

Stay Away

Quality Inn & Suites Albuquerque Downtown University

This place was horrible and certainly not fit for a pet. No where for them to go. We got a room on the bottom floor facing the courtyard thinking that would be helpful. There were a couple of small patches of dirt in front of other people's rooms and that was it. The place was just a party zone by the pool all night. Food and beer bottles all over (not helpful with a dog). There was so much noise we never slept. The dog was up all night, literally people loud and drinking in the echoey courtyard until 530 am. We decided to leave. They were still there.
Check in was easy and the girl working the front desk was super friendly, but as soon as we drove around to unload and there were 2 guys standing outside the hallway entry door smoking pot.
The toilet would not flush and 2 of the 3 towel bars fell if the wall when you grabbed your towel.
Everything smelled of smoke, though it was a no smoking room, everyone sits on their patios and courtyard and smoke, which lofts into your room. Not sure how this place got the stars it did, but that was the worst 8 hours of the trip.
