This was the first hike we ever took our 1 year old dog on. It's a really easy hike and the trail is paved all the way up. It is also a very wide trail, about 10 feet across so you don't have to worry about you or your dog possibly falling off.

Technically, your dog is supposed to be on a leash, but most people there don't care and won't complain if you let your well-behaved dog off leash. There are a lot of other dogs there for your dog to play with.

We went around 1:45 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. The highest amount of other dogs there were was 6, the lowest was 0. Would recommend going at this time to introduce your dog to the area or if your dog is not great with other dogs. Lots of shade, there are dog and human water fountains. Benches and picnic tables are available, but no bathrooms. There is a separate area for smaller dogs.
