Great Dog Friendly Stay
Sheraton Memphis Downtown HotelWe were passing through Memphis with our 2 dogs and I found the Sheraton was dog friendly on BringFido, so booked one night. I believe I’ve stayed at this property before, under a different brand, so I knew it wasn’t super close to Beale it that didn’t matter this time. We were booked to the dog friendly floor and I was pleasantly surprised! The room was clean and comfortable with no indication of “dog friendly smell!” There was also an adjacent park for the pups and the staff told us about a nearby dog park. This was honestly one of the best dog friendly hotels I’ve stayed in - I think Marriott has it down, bc I also had a great stay at an aloft. Best part - NO PET FEE! We slept really well and would stay again, with or without the dogs!
Awesome - Well Worth Admission
Royal Gorge Bridge & ParkI was hesitant to go bc I was scared of the bridge, but the whole park is neat! SUPER DOG FRIENDLY - I couldn’t even buy the tickets without my husband and dogs coming inside! They have a dog friendly car on the gondola and my pups loved it! Hold onto the dogs on the other side bc there’s lots of wildlife! cold beers at a little shaded oasis before you cross the bridge back. So beautiful - right up there with Pike’s Peak!
Not good
Dog N Suds - West SideI love a good hot dog, but this was not the place. Hot dog was ok, but fries were strange —like they were breaded. even my dogs wouldn’t eat them.
nothing special
Another Broken Egg Cafealthough we were able to sit outside (basically on the sidewalk along a busy street), this restaurant doesn’t cater to dogs. luckily I have a collapsible bowl and had to ask for water. the food was just ok - nothing special at all. I’d rather have Triple XXX any day.
Great food & really dog friendly
Digby'scame here while visiting #1 son at Purdue. the patio is very nice and not too hot! they came immediately w 2 bowls for our pups, food was fabulous - beer & bacon Mac & cheese was fabulous!
Great walk!
Audubon Bird SanctuaryWe brought our dogs with us for a week at the beach and many people told us to go here. There are many different trails and they are nice and wide. We had a great walk and the dogs were very happy
Not much to see
Indian Shell Mound ParkWe took our pups while staying on the island, but it is very small and not much to see at all. the trails don’t really go anywhere and are uneven and overgrown. Go to the Bird Sanctuary instead!
