AMAZING
White Sands National ParkThis place is beautiful! Amazing views for days and a GREAT way to tire out a pup! We bought booties for our pup, but were told that they weren’t necessary because the sand is gypsum, which doesn’t get hot and is actually cool to the touch. BEWARE: there is NO SHADE here for your pup, so bring a lot of water, take breaks and keep your eye on the trail markers!
Nice and Quiet
Chemin-A-Haut State ParkWe stopped here with our pup, and it was a great, relaxing time. He was able to get some off-leash time because there wasn’t anyone else there! They have various trails and playgrounds, including a brand new kid’s trail! Definitely recommend!
Super Dog Friendly
Magnolia Market at the SilosThis place was super dog friendly! Dogs are allowed in all buildings except for the cafe and the bakery (for obvious reasons). We also were approached by an EMT on site who explained the dog-friendly amenities, like 3 dog water bowls, potty patch in the back of the property, etc. Bring the pups, they love them here!
Beautiful
San Antonio River WalkWe took our big Golden Retriever here, and it was a great time. He was a little nervous at spots when we had to pass people on the walkway close to the water, but there were plenty of people with dogs and most of the restaurants had outdoor seating! 10:10 would do again!
Plenty of Dogs Here!
Angelo's PizzaWe went here for lunch! The food was great (try the Pepperoni Brooklyn Rolls), and the staff was very accommodating. We sat outside on the River Walk, with plenty of dogs passing by and seated around us! It was a nice and calm place to take a break on our trip!
Lots of Room
Cascade CavernsWhile dogs aren’t allowed on the trails and the caverns, there is plenty of room to walk around and explore on the campsite! We saw so much wildlife, including deer, rabbits, frogs, etc. It wasn’t super busy when we went, so we really got some exploring in!
Pretty good
Carlsbad KOAWe stopped here for a night. There’s plenty of space to walk your dog around. From a camper’s perspective, I wasn’t a fan of the men’s restroom remodel, the closeness of the campsites, or the price. But, as far as a dog-friendly spot to stay for the night, this was good!
