I always wanted to stay somewhere with our dog where he was not just tolerated, but actually welcome. Well, this is the place! The Sanctuary is my favorite place on earth, and this was our first time staying at the Roadhouse. We will certainly be back - friendly, welcoming, amazing touches like cookies and dog treats at check-in, a dog bed in room, off-leash dog parks, food and water bowls, and more. Excellent stay and very sad to leave!

Pros: comfy bed, friendly front desk and valet staff, breakfast included. Cons: The hotel wants to be dog friendly, but there is no grass immediately outside the hotel (though there is a park nearby). It’s in the middle of all the action and very busy, and the only way in and out is the front door (when we usually try to take our dog out through a less trafficked exit because he can be skittish). Their website says they accept dogs up to 65 pounds, but I feel like it would be much easier with a small dog. We enjoyed our stay and are grateful to everyone there but probably wouldn’t stay again (though the beach is incredible!).

They went out of their way before we arrived to make sure we had a room that would be good for us and our pupper and had a “Woof Woof” bag waiting for us at check-in made by local kids (part of the pet fee even goes to the local Humane Society!). Highly recommend.

We stay here with our dog at least once a month. The rooms are comfy and safe, they have dog beds, bowls, and treats, and they’re usually pretty friendly. Only reason not 5 stars is that all of the rooms are 2nd floor and up so it can be a challenge getting the doggo out, but not a big deal.

We stayed here for 5 nights and checked out this morning. The pros: fantastic housekeeping, steps from the beach, no pet fee, breakfast included. The cons: front desk clerk who checked us in was not very nice, but biggest con was that you have to take your dog through the hotel and busy pool patio to get out to the beach or through the hotel and out the front door to get to a small area of grass. They have a great path on the side that could be utilized to take dogs out and avoid the crowds, but it was locked with a bicycle lock. When I asked why, they said the front door needs to be the only exit and entrance. A real bummer.
