Nice park. It’s bigger in summer.
Riverside Drive Dog ParkIt was still winter size, but there’s a nice walking trail to keep everyone circulating. 2 double gated big dog entrances and one for the small dog side. Lots of water bowls and pickup stations. People and dogs were friendly. Summer size looks to be about double the existing size for the big dogs. The park is a lovely little run stop on a road trip.

Big dog fun
Hazalia Dog ParkThis is a well thought out dog and sports complex. The fenced active dog arena is on the hill, soccer field at the bottom, and the shy dog fenced area is way off to the side away from the noise. Tables, potty stations, water, double entry gates, and things to jump on and explore make it a big hit for the dogs. The surface is bark and dirt, so there will be mud with rain, but the dogs loved it, so bring some towels with you.

Old School Motel
Lakeshore InnYeah, it’s old. You can hear people walking around, the floors are slanted, and the elevator is tiny, but it’s hard to beat the walkability to a lot of services and the view. Don’t expect all the charging USB hubs either. That said, the beds are comfy, parking is outside your door, and there’s a grassy courtyard and restaurants next door. If you’re looking for luxury and modern conveniences, this isn’t the place for you. If you’re looking for a hub to explore the city with your dog and have well lit late night potty areas, this motel will do. The do provide bed toppers, towels, and bowls for your dog, which is helpful.

It’s just okay
Salishan Coastal LodgeFor the price I expected a bit more, but the property is nice. Dogs are allowed in the lobby, but not in any of the eating places. If you want to eat outside of your room they allow you to eat in the lobby. Late night potty breaks are a bit creepy since the pathways are lit, but surrounding area are not, meaning you are seen, but can’t quite see beyond the pathways. All bedding is stark white and you aren’t provided with a dog bed cover, so bring one with you.

Just the basics
Champion Dog ParkIf you’re used to big city dog parks, this is not going to knock your socks off, but there’s a small fenced area, large unfenced fetch field, and a paved trail. Water, benches, and poop station, it gets the job done.

It’ll do
Best Western Salbasgeon Inn & SuitesClean rooms and well lit building for late night potty outings. Grocery snd hardware stores for provisions, and 5 blocks from the dog park. This is a nice stop on your way up the coast.
