Loved it!

Racks Bar and Grill

What a great place to eat, grab a beer, and relax on the patio with the pups! The staff was very friendly and welcoming to our two dogs. Even though it was hot outside, the tall wall shields you from the sun and the huge tree provides even more shade. Our dogs enjoyed lying down on the cool stone pavers, too. We were traveling through Nevada to visit family and liked Rak’s so much that we stopped here on the way back, too! Hotel Nevada is right down the street and is super dog friendly as well! There is a nice park next to the restaurant so the dogs loved that too! This was a very welcome respite from our traveling with two dogs that don’t travel well!

Do not take your dog here!

Lake Havasu State Park

Oh how I wished I had done some research before taking our two pups here. We paid $20 and walked around to find a spot and the paper map says nothing about areas that dogs can visit but there are signs everywhere that dogs are not allowed. There was no person at the entrance station to even ask. A big waste of money!

Great food and excellent service!

The River Dog Grill

We visited River Dog Grill on our way to Lake Havasu. The instant we walked in the dog with our pups we were greeted by the local patrons in a very friendly manner! They told us to go in the main entrance and head back to an enclosed patio where you can sit with your dogs. Everyone was so welcoming that we almost felt like we were in the Cheers bar (show from the 90’s)! A garage-like door can be opened if you like for some air, but the traffic noise from the busy street worried our anxious dog. Still, our waitress was super friendly and offered to bring water but we had our own. She brought the dogs a piece of bacon, each! The food was good! Google Maps makes it hard to find. I would suggest looking up Buffalo Wild Wings because you park between there and the restaurant anyhow. River Dog is just south of Buffalo Wild Wings. They are just separated by a parking lot.

Don’t stay here!

Hoover Dam Lodge

We made the mistake of staying here just one night to give us a break from driving. They accept dogs but there is no place for the dogs to relieve themselves without burning their feet. No shaded spot ANYWHERE. The room was clean but I thought it was odd that there was no headboard. Weird!
