we’ve been here twice now and are making it a regular spot. Our heeler loves it here. we didn’t even walk all the way down to the both ends and we got about 3.5 miles in.
So far anyone with dogs off leash are incredibly respectful and responsible. - EmilyAug 21, 2022Update: You CAN bring your pit bull/pit mix!
After reading multiple reviews and other websites stating pit bulls weren’t allowed at this dog beach, I inquired at the gate when paying for parking. I told him I heard a rumor that pits and pit bulls weren’t allowed. He literally laughed at me and said that was indeed a rumor, that they did not breed discriminate. I can only assume that used to be a policy that has since changed . I’ll be bringing my best boy, pittie next time for sure!

Great spacious beach with lots of walking and swimming room. $10 to park all day and probably fills up quick on a busy day. Sweet dogs and owners. Took us an hour from Santa Rosa. Beautiful drive and totally worth it.

this was a perfect getaway for the day from the warm temperatures. parking on weekends is $20 and $10 during the week. parking lot can fill up fast on weekends. It was definitely busy with a lot of people swimming or fishing but the pups still enjoyed their time. I would love to go back on a weekday when it is not as crowded and my dogs can run around a little more freely. Definitely will be back.

We went there today and there were so many dogs, all are allowed off leash too. The only downside is there’s a small lagoon type area with bacteria that can’t be swam in. So if you’re dog doesn’t listen well they might go in there.

My dog Jake was so happy to be going to the ocean for the first time! I had the hardest time trying to find a place where we could park and just walk on a beach so he could get his first feel of the ocean. Even tho he is a Pit Bull mix and the sweetest dog, we were not permitted to enter! He doesn't pick fights at the dog parks and when we walk our neighborhood he has many doggie friends who whine if Jake doesn't come to their gates to say "Hello!". There are other breeds who are aggressive and mean but still allowed on the beach! I never let Jake run free in public places and he is always fine on a leash!

First beach trip for our dog. He loved it. I will definitely go back. $10 to park. Cell service a bit spotty.

Dillon beach is a longtime favorite for dog lovers. Furry babies can run free and are so happy romping in the surf. However, the park does not permit Pitbulls :(
