This is an awesome dog park with plenty of shade and room to run. It has three fenced in areas. One for small dogs is one for large dogs. Plus a small area with shelter as an introduction area for new dogs or shy dogs. Plus poop bags and trash cans all over. They even got a port-a-potty for the humans.

Great park with 2 areas for large and small breeds. It has toys and tires to play with. As with all parks, not all owners are the same as we arrived there were two dogs already in the park. Their owner seemed attentive and worked to control them

This is a large park, that has a separation for large and small breeds. It's mostly grassy, with a few benches for humans to hang out on. However, this park has no shade for your dog, so beware of hot days. Otherwise, the park is decent.

I love that there were two areas. One for small dogs and one for big. There's a lot of places for you to sit and the park was really nice!

There is a large, paved parking lot. There are 3 sections for the dogs - dogs under 30 lbs, dogs over 30 lbs, and the middle section, where you can bring dogs that are new to the dog park experience, that might need socialization, etc. Both the small and large sides have water available for the dogs. There are several benches. There is barely any shade, and it can get really hot in the sun. There's a porta potty available if you need it. There are bags and cans, and yes, you clean up after your own dog, although there are some folks that never do.
Generally, the people and dogs that come here are nice. There have been incidents where dogs and/or people have been bitten. I think if people actually read the rules and followed them, there would be less of those incidents. The irresponsible pet owners make it more difficult for those that are responsible.
I would highly suggest making a police report if your dog, or you, are ever bitten at any dog park. - HayleMore than a year agoBest Option for PC
We adopted a pup a few months ago, and he absolutely loves Al Helm! It can get really crowded really easily because it is actually pretty small compared to city parks I've visited in nearby areas. It is generally pretty clean and safe, though we have had a couple of issues with aggressive dogs and careless owners. However, my pup gets so excited as soon as we even get close to the park so we will definitely keep going back. :)

Don't take your dog to this park. My dog was attacked by pitbulls and the owners just stood there and watched and then left without even apologizing nor did they check to make sure my dog was ok. I will NEVER take my dog back to this park and neither should you.

I've taken my little dog here a few times on a Saturday morning and always find it very quiet. It's nice that the large dogs are separated from the little dogs. A hose and bowl are provided so the dogs can get a drink. There is a large grassy area and occasionally there are some tennis balls. The only draw back I see is that as this park is still relatively new, it does not have any shade. So can become unbearably hot for a black dog during the height of summer.
- RichMore than a year agoBest of the public parks
This is by far the best of the 3 public dog parks. It has 2 areas (large dogs, small dogs). Only drawback with that is that a height restriction in addition to dog weight would be helpful. Good water supply, plenty of benches to watch your friend play, large grassy areas. 4 bones instead of 5 only because there is no water feature for them to play in. Definitely worth a visit!
