Stroud Preserve

The Stroud Preserve is a dog-friendly area in West Chester, PA that consists of 571 acres of culturally and ecologically important land in Chester County. This rolling mosaic of once-pastured grasslands, working farmlands and woodlands now serves as wildlife habitat and a unique site for research by the Stroud Water Research Center, one of the premier stream research labs in North America. This recreation area boasts more than nine miles of hiking trails. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times and owners must pick up after them. Visit Website

    Great place!

    There are different styles of trails (wooded, meadows, fields, gravel, dirt). Brandywine creek runs through the preserve. It can be crowded at times and the parking lot can fill up. There tends to be a number of dogs there and you may also come across some horseback riders on some trails.
