First: if it's raining or has rained be prepared to be muddy. The parking area isn't paved and we were covered in it just from walking around. We have an 80lb husky who is too big for most of the dog friendly rides, but he had a good time sniffing around. He got lots of attention. There are some water stations around the park for dogs. They're not allowed in the covered dining areas or the shops.
- TonitoJul 2, 2024Not pet Friendly
No pet friendly dog lodging like Darien Lakes, Hersey Park camping , Yogi bear camp ground , & Twin Grove camp ground. The rustic cabins , cottages .... Do not allow pet inside of for lodging. I have been complaining about this for 30 years plus and still no results. The only way you can enjoy your time at Knoebels is not to bring pet or have your own camper!!
- KaylaAug 22, 2023Pawsome Day
Visited Knoebels in August of 2023 and dogs were allowed on the carousels, antique cars, trains and motor boats. I have a Pit Bull mix, and we tried out the antique cars and motor boats - which he loved! Greeted right away upon entering where he was handed a treat.
- SigridJul 25, 2023Fun, fun, fun!
We were traveling through the area, and decided to make a shorter driving day, so we could bring our dog here. We visited the park on a Monday, late afternoon/early evening. It was a good time to go....Not very crowded at all. We rode the pioneer train, Ol'Smokey and the carousel with our dog and didn't have to wait more than 5 min for any of them. He seemed to enjoy all three. He relished the many pets from lots of different people. It was fun walking around the park, watching the big rides, and we got dinner too. They had water for dogs around the park, so we didn't have to carry water, which was nice. the locations of water bowls are listed in the fine print on the back of the park map, FYI.
- JonathonJun 23, 2023GREAT dog friendly place!!!
I was THRILLED to see the park had a large sign forewarning dog owners about the hot pavement. It actually had the current temperature of the pavement posted on it!!! They welcome dogs, and do everything to help you keep them safe!! I strongly recommend a pair of shoes for your pup if you're visiting in the summer. The asphalt DOES get hot, but there are plenty of shady places to relax. GREAT clean park, and almost every dog we saw was very well mannered. An absolutely GREAT place to visit with your pup!!!
- SaraMay 5, 2023Welcoming place for pups!
We’re locals and visits almost weekly to walk in the morning before they open or Sunday evenings.
There’s plenty of shade to cool off, some creek spots along the pavilions to get some splash time in!
There are several fountains in the park if you bring a collapsing dish along. They even have disposable bags if you forget yours.
All the employees are usually happy to see Gemma and get some pats in.
There are several camp grounds near by that welcome friendly and leashed pets as well.
There’s an emergency vet (Watsontown) about 45 minutes away if you encounter any problems too. There’s a Pet Co or Martha’s Pet Supply in Bloomsburg about 15-20 mins if you need anything during an extended visit to the area. Both places carry higher end foods and toys/supplies. - KyraSep 25, 2022Nothing special but dog friendly.
The park is nice but very busy and people should understand that it can be hard to navigate with a dog. its very dog friendly but there is no clear signs that mark what rides are dog friendly but we didn’t run into any problems by going to the rides others has said are dog friendly
- pioneer train
- Grand carousel
- Antique cars
- Motor boats
- Ole Smokey(railroad ride)one note is that while these rides are dog friendly the queues are very long and very narrow so you wont have room to allow your dog to sit next to you and there will most likely be kids surrounding you jumping, yelling etc so make sure thats something your pet can handle. I would highly recommend holding a small dog or training your dog to walk In between your legs while in line so they can be kept out of the way. This park is also very busy we went right as it opened and the parking lot was already very full and the lines can be very long we waited about 30-45 minutes for each ride and most of them were basic kid rides that lasted less that 5 minutes.
the free admission is hard to beat so if your a local it would be fun to take your dog and watch performers, eat junk food and see all the cool things they have to offer. If anyone is curious about pricing for two people each ride is about 5 dollars. if its a driving ride its about $3 for the driver and $2 for each additional passenger or in a train rode where you are not responsible for steering its about $2.50 per rider.
- RebeccaSep 5, 2022Our boy had a great time!
A wonderful place to bring your dog, especially if you’re working on socializing.
Our boy received many pets, sniffs, and love over the weekend! He also was able to enjoy a puppy sized treat at the Old Mill.
If you’re planning on bringing your dog here in the summer months, make sure to pack water and a collapsible bowl. there are fountains throughout the park but depending on where you are they may be hard to pin down.
- TaraJun 19, 2022The place to be if you’re a doggie
Fun food and fantasy is their slogan but it’s the truth, for humans and for dogs. I don’t know of any other parks that let dogs ride any rides, so this is fun and unique and budget friendly!
- SuzanneAug 3, 2021Super dog friendly
We had a good day on a very busy Saturday. Knoebels is super dog friendly and accomodating. They had water bowls out and ticket booths had treats. Although our dog would not get on any rides as we predicted, they at least told us to try and were nice and patient about it. Some walkways had a gravely-dirt mixture and some paved. I'm guessing if it was really warm out it would be hot on their paws. We had weather if mid 70's...so it was fine. Overall a wonderful day and not "ruff" at all on our pup.
- AngieJul 24, 2021A day at the park
Knoebels is a very nice amusement park in the hills of PA. The dogs are able to ride the antique cars, both carousels, both trains, and the motor boats.
- PhillipMay 3, 2021Great Day Out
Brought my 7-month-old puppy and he absolutely loved it. Although I didn’t take him on any rides, he enjoyed the walk around the park and seemed to have the most fun of anyone.
- TheresaJan 2, 2021Great opportunity to bring your dog with you
Knoebels is an amazing place to take your dog with you if you don't want to leave them in the house all day while you're at the park. I've taken one on the main railroad ride. I've read they're allowed on the other railroad ride called Ole Smokey, the small boats you steer, and a carousel. They care for your dogs by providing watering stations. Please help keep Knoebels pet friendly by only bringing friendly dogs and being responsible pet owners.
- JacquelineSep 8, 2019It was fun!
We just went on a Saturday in September. The waits were long. We only actually went on one ride, the train “Olé Smokey” mainly because we had spent the day hiking and were tired. It’s perfect because you don’t pay to enter only to ride. First time we took the dog there. It’s only for well behaved dogs as there are way too many people to take a crazy dog there. Only gave them four bones because no one knew which rides accepted animals and it was kind of annoying. There are definitely more rides they could ride but don’t allow. I suggest they have a dog only day!
- ANGELMore than a year agoDOGGIE DISNEY WORLD
We discovered this place a few years ago. I went because they were pet friendly and I thought it would be nice to take my three poodles. The second we arrived we were greeted by guest services who kissed, hugged, and let my boys and then informed us that there were SIX pet-friendly rides!!!! We couldn't believe it! We proceeded to each one of the pet friendly rides and my poodles and I had the time of our lives!!! The boys LOVED each and every ride and the joy on their faces (and mine) was absolutely PRICELESS!!!!! Since then, we have been every single year!!!! My boys start barking and jumping up and down as soon as we pull into the parking lot!!!! This year, we stopped to enjoy the band that was playing, and all of the band members came off the stage, gathered around my poodles (who were in their stroller) and began singing and playing instruments directly to them! It was so precious!!!!! My boys stood up and smiled at them all and enjoyed every second of it!!!! If you have a dog, YOU MUST take them here!!!! We give it 100 bones for a rating!!!!!!!
- StacyMore than a year agoGreat for Everyone
Both the campground and park are very dog-friendly, and are beloved by people as well. There are fountains and spigots for drinks/splashes, and 'dog refreshing stations' set up with water bowls around the park.
Only downside - because it is so extremely dog-friendly, some dogs are there that aren't really socialized enough to be. Make sure you've got your dogs under control! - CassandraMore than a year agoDog Friendly
Knoebels is very dog friendly. With dog waste stations for dootie pickup, and water spigots to get them a drink. We've already asked the food stands for bowls of water, and they were happy to oblige. Dogs are welcome on the train, the grand carousel and the antique cars at Gasoline Alley. We love taking our dogs there!
