Kittatinny Valley State Park Kittatinny Valley State Park is a pet-friendly recreation area in Andover, New Jersey. Sections of the Paulinskill Natural Trail and the Sussex Branch Trail, constructed atop two former railroads, can be accessed from the park. You might even see a musher and his dogsled team running down the trail. Unfortunately, pets are not permitted to stay overnight in any of the facilities. Leroy Lewis Dog Park, previously Middle Smithfield Township Dog Park, is conveniently located right off of Route 209, with a large sign visible from the road. This beautiful, large park has separate sections for large and small dogs, a gravel walking path around the outside of the off-leash areas, shade trees, seating and 6' tall fences. It is part of Turkey Brook Park which includes lots of soccer, football and baseball fields, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, playgrounds, and walking paths. The dog park is in the back of the park and is fenced, with a separate area for smaller dogs and double gated entry. All dogs must be vaccinated and on leash until in the dog park.
