Freeman Park The dog-friendly Freeman Park on Carolina Beach, NC, welcomes dogs on a leash from April 1 to September 30. From October 1 to March 31, dogs are allowed off-leash as long as they are under voice command and their owner is near. South Beach features long stretches of sand and calmer waters, while East Beach is better for boogie boarding and surfing. Deep Point Marina - Bald Head Island Ferry Head out from Deep Point Marina and travel to Bald Head Island on the pet-friendly Bald Head Island Ferry. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are free with a paying passenger. Dogs are not allowed inside the passenger cabin, but are permitted in the exterior areas of the ferry.
