Natural Lands Stroud Preserve Natural Lands Stroud Preserve is a dog-friendly area in West Chester, PA, that consists of 571 acres of culturally and ecologically important land in Chester County. This rolling mosaic of once-pastured grasslands, working farmlands, and woodlands now serves as wildlife habitat and a unique site for research by the Stroud Water Research Center, one of the premier stream research labs in North America. In 2010, The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA DCNR) designated portions of ChesLen Preserve—specifically the Unionville Barrens—as a “Pennsylvania Wild Plant Sanctuary.” The program encourages the conservation of natural areas and native plants, and recognizes private landowners who serve as models of good conservation and stewardship of these special resources. The large area is one acre. Both having running water from April 1 to November 1, wading pools in summer, toys, and a covered area. They are double-gated. Membership required. To request a packet, email playgroups@godfreysdogdom.com. The park requires proof of rabies, bordettla and DHLPP as well as a negative fecal exam within the last year. They also want dogs to be on a heartworm preventative and flea and tick ocontrol of some kind. Titer tests are also acceptable for vaccinations and heartworm. See Details
