Chino Hills State Park
Chino Hills State Park has pet-friendly sections for you and Fido to use. Leashed dogs can enjoy Bane Canyon Road, beginning at the entrance of the Park off of Sapphire Road and ending at the Rolling M Ranch in the heart of the Park. Dogs are also allowed on campgrounds, picnic areas, and parking lots, but can't use any of the other trails at the park. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Chino Hills State Park is open November through March from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and April through October from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Arlington Garden is a three-acre garden on Caltrans-owned land. It is leased to the City of Pasadena and entrusted by the city to Arlington Garden in Pasadena. This garden is not only friendly to people and pets, but also exists as a refuge for Pasadena’s native fauna. Birds, bees, and butterflies are particularly abundant and can be seen throughout the year. Arlington Garden is open 8 am to 6 pm every day of the year, no charge.

This trail can be busy because at 6164 feet, it is the tallest peak in the San Gabriels. This is a great winter hike, but can be scorching hot in the summer time. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Big Horn Mine Trail
Big Horn Mine Trail is a 3.9 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This is an unmarked trail that can be found below the Mount Baden-Powell/PCT path at the closed road. The trail follows an old mining road all the way to the mine.

Devils Punchbowl Trail is an easy, 1.2 mile hike in Devils Punchbowl Natural Area that will take about 1 hour to complete with Fido. This trail where the San Andreas Fault comes together with the Pinyon and Punchbowl Faults; the result is some spectacular land formations. Take in Pleasant View Ridge and if you look to the south you will see the San Gabriel Mountains. The faults have also formed beautiful rock formations at some interesting angles.

Chantry Flats Hiking Trails
Pets on leashes are welcome on the trails at Chantry Flats, as well as at the Chantry Flats Picnic Area which has 35 concrete picnic tables and charcoal BBQs, as well as bathroom facilities. Before hitting the trails, be sure to stop off at Adams' Pack Station, the last pack station of its kind in the United States that delivers supplies year-round to a permanent community of 80 antique cabins accessible by footpath only. The Pack Station also has a General Store where you can purchase your Forest Service Adventure Passes, water, and trail mix before your hike; or return for soft drinks and ice cream, or an ice cold beer, afterwards.

Telegraph Peak via Manker Flat and Baldy Notch trails is a very difficult, though dog-friendly, 11.4 mile hike in Angeles National Forest that will take about 8 hours to complete with Fido. This trail loop has everything you can ask for in magnificent scenery including forests, streams, waterfalls, and mountains. The trail is at a high altitude and is steep and rocky, therefore it should only be attempted by pets and owners that are used to such terrain. Dogs must be leashed.
