The Luce Line State Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Minneapolis! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Luce Line State Trail. Located just off of Historic Main Street, Nicollet Island Park is dog-friendly! The Park contains a promenade with a view of the first dam on the Mississippi. Fido is welcome to explore the park's paths, garden, and picnic area. Dogs are not allowed inside the Nicollet Island Pavilion. Dogs must be on a leash during their visit to Nicollet Island Park. The Park is open from 6am to 12am in developed areas and from 6am to 10pm in undeveloped areas.
