Within 30 minutes of setting off, you'll be at the top of the glacier enjoying the refreshing lake of St. Mary's. This is a moderate 2.4-mile trail that is highly trafficked by lots of pups. Red Rocks Trail #708 Fido can join you on a hike at Red Rocks Trail #708, an easy, dog-friendly trail in Woodland Park, CO. Enjoy the walk through ponderosa pines that ends at a photo-worthy sandstone formation. Leashed dogs are welcome along the entire trail, but some sections may be designated as off-leash as well. Sniktau Mountain Trail Dog-friendly Sniktau Mountain Trail near Dillon, CO is a 4 mile hike in Arapaho National Forest. This out-and-back trail is considered a challenging route which will take 2 to 3 hours to complete with Fido. Dogs must be leashed when accompanying you on the trail. See Details
Washington Park Washington Park in Denver, CO is pet friendly and welcomes leashed dogs. This park is a popular hangout spot for local pooches and their owners. Encompassing 155 acres of pleasant grounds, including two lakes and a flower garden that is a replica of George Washington's gardens at Mount Vernon, there's plenty to see with your pooch. The Washington Park Boathouse, completed in 1913, is the main attraction of the park. Among the many other amenities that canines and their owners will observe and enjoy are a bicycle/pedestrian pathway, crushed granite jogging path, fitness course, horseshoe pit, lawn bowling/croquet area, soccer field, tennis courts and recreation center. Watrous Gulch Trail Watrous Gulch Trail in Silver Plume, CO, is a 4-mile, pet-friendly hike in Arapaho National Forest that will take about 4 hours to complete with Fido. You and your dog will enjoy this uncrowded trail that takes you through a forest before emerging from the timberline at Watrous Creek. The trail continues on a moderate incline into fields of grass and wildflowers. Leash regulations do apply. See Details
Animas River Trail The Animas River Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Durango! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the Animas River Trail. Lake Estes Trail The dog-friendly Lake Estes Trail in Estes Park, CO, acts as a central hub for an extensive trail network throughout the Estes area and Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail is about 4-miles long and can be accessed from the Visitor Center parking area, down Lake Front Drive to Fisherman's Nook, or from the Lake Estes Marina. See Details
Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site Located inside Garden of The Gods is the dog-friendly Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, a living history farm and museum in Colorado Springs, CO. Although pups are not allowed inside the historic buildings, they can join you for walks along the hiking trails. You may have your furry friend roam off-leash east of the bridges, but your dogs must be leashed west of the bridges (in the central area of the Ranch). See Details
Historic Arkansas Riverwalk Bring Fido along to explore the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk, a dog-friendly trail in Pueblo, CO. There is a well maintained walking path along the river with plenty of grass and shade around for you and your pup. Dogs must be on-leash and bags are provided for clean up. See Details
Harry A. Nottingham Park Harry A. Nottingham Park in Avon, CO is dog friendly. The park has 48 acres of open space to explore with your leashed pooch. At the center of the park, you'll find Nottingham Lake, a great place for fishing, paddle-boating, and SUP. Don't forget to pause at the picnic area for lunch with your pup. See Details
Fruita Paleontological Area The Fruita Paleo Area, located in the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area (NCA), features a one-half mile dog-friendly hike that takes about an hour allowing time to read the interpretive exhibits. Twenty vivid, artistic renderings help to interpret the area's geologic and paleontological history. The area is only open to foot travel. This area also provides access to the historic Skinner Cabin. The NCA serves as an outdoor museum and area of study for the life and people that came before us. Palisade Rim Trail Head Palisade Rim Trail is a 3.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Palisade, Colorado that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail. See Details
Sulphur Gulch Trail Fido is welcome to join you for a hike on the Sulphur Gulch Trail, a pet-friendly trail in Parker, CO. The paved trail is 4.4 miles long and features benches, dog stations, restrooms, and parking for your convenience. All dogs must be leashed. See Details
Boulder Reservoir Boulder Reservoir is a pet-friendly destination in Boulder, CO. Leashed pets are welcome seasonally at this popular recreation area, which includes swimming areas, fishing and wildlife viewing. On the North Side of the lake, dogs can take the short hike from the Open Space parking lot down to the beach and then run for miles. On the South Side of the lake, from Labor Day until mid-May, dogs are allowed to play on the Reservoir’s “people beach." Dogs are prohibited from May 15 through Labor Day. See Details
Crags Trail The Crags Trail is a 4-mile hike in Pike National Forest near Divide, CO, that will take about 2.5 hours to complete with Fido. This pet-friendly trail, exclusively for hikers and horsemen, leads to the Crags and is a true mountain adventure. The ground is padded with evergreen needles and is easy on Fido's paws. Please note that dogs must remain on a leash while hiking the trail. See Details
Barr Lake State Park Barr Lake State Park in Brighton, CO, is dog friendly. Pet owners should know that pups aren't permitted in the Wildlife Refuge located within the southern half of the lake, but they can join you on a number of the other trails that surround the lake. Fans of fishing and boating can enjoy the calm waters at this destination, and bird spotters will love it here. There is an entrance fee. See Details

Chihuahua Lake Trail Even the biggest of big dogs will love this 6.1 mile hike in the White River National Forest that is named after the mighty Chihuahua. Located near Dillon, CO, this dog-friendly trail is steep, but it also criss-crosses a stream several times so you can catch your breath while Fido cools off. There are also several small ponds along the way, which are a great spot to pause for a picnic. See Details
Ceran Saint Vrain Trail This 4-mile, pet-friendly hike in Ward, CO, runs along a creek and is most popular (and beautiful) in early June when the calypso orchid is in bloom on the forest floor. Round-trip, the Ceran Saint Vrain Trail will take Fido about 4 hours to finish; 5 hours if you continue on to the Miller Rock summit, which provides an awesome view from an equally impressive pile of boulders.
