Chatfield State Park Off-Leash Dog Area

Chatfield State Park offers 70-acres of off-leash fun. A variety of terrains keep dogs interested in exploring the park. Other park features include multiple trails and ponds. Bring water for your pup and bags to clean up after your dog. There is a fee to enter the state park and an additional nominal fee to use the off-leash area. Annual passes are available for frequent visitors.

Lowry Dog Park

Dogs are allowed to play off-leash in a designated area of this park, located near Lowry Air Force Base.

Bear Creek Dog Park

Bear Creek Dog Park is a fenced park with a play area for dogs under 25 lbs and a large play area for dogs of all sizes. Features include pathways, a creek, a water station, restrooms, and plenty of waste disposal areas.

Durango Dog Park

This large park with 6 square miles of natural, open space is on the side of Smelter Mountain right in downtown Durango. A stone's throw from the DoubleTree and other dog-friendly hotels, this park is a place where dogs can play in the Animas River and run the trails while you enjoy a great hike. Public parking is located in a dirt lot on the corner of Hwy 160 and El Camino Rio.
