This is a beautiful dog-friendly recreation area in Fairfield, Connecticut. The trails surround a lake and waterfall/creek called the cascades on acreage donated by the G.E. corporation. There are waste bins for doggie cleanups, so bring your baggies.

Housatonic Rail-Trail - Trumbull (Pequannock Valley Greenway)

The Housatonic Rail-Trail - Trumbull (Pequannock Valley Greenway) is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Trumbull! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Housatonic Rail-Trail - Trumbull (Pequannock Valley Greenway). Timberlands

A wonderful place to enjoy a hike, rock cropings, Mountain Laurel, ferns, pine groves, and some peace and quiet. The trails are mostly level with a few steep grades. There is also a wonderful stream and a lake for the dogs to swim in.
