Island Line Rail Trail

The Island Line Rail Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Burlington! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Island Line Rail Trail. Smugglers Notch State Park

Named for a narrow pass through the Green Mountains, Smugglers Notch State Park provides incredible views along a variety of trails. Ponds, streams, and waterfalls can be found throughout the park. Campground facilities provide a place to rest and relax surrounded by breathtaking natural vistas. Historic structures dot the park and a provide a sense of times past. Leashed dogs are permitted throughout the park.
