Record stores are not a thing of the “pawst.” From mom-and-pop antique shops to the world's largest independent record store, Fido is welcome to dance down the aisles at these eight pet-friendly vinyl record treasure troves across the United States.

If your Greyhound’s feeling groovy, bring him to Papa Jazz Record Shoppe in Columbia, SC. Thousands of new and used records grace the shelves under the owner, Tim Smith’s careful curation and hundreds are being added daily. Papa Jazz has opened its doors to two- and four-legged music lovers for over 40 years. With the store overflowing with products, remember to keep Fido leashed while browsing.

Continue digging for treasures at Revente, a consignment shop just down the street. Then, after shopping til you drop, rest your paws at this nearby 3-bedroom home, which welcomes two dogs of any size and has a fenced yard.

Amoeba Music

Calling all music-loving mutts! While strutting his stuff down the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Fido is invited to stop at Amoeba Music, the World's Largest Independent Record Store. This store is stocked with an impressive collection of new and used vinyl records, CDs, movies and other memorabilia. Amoeba Music even hosts an annual Halloween Dog Costume Contest for its furry regulars. Help Fido remember his time in Hollywood with an Amoeba bandana or toy from their selection of doggie merch, and don’t forget a treat from the front counter on the way out!

Four-legged customers are greeted by Dandelo, the hard-working shop dog. Dandelo ensures punk and rock fans find exactly what they need in this quirky, retro record store. The shelves are also lined with collectibles and toys.

Celebrate Fido’s findings with a drink at Ludlow Liquors, which welcomes dogs in the beer garden. Then, consider crashing at this Urban Oasis in Logan Square, a pet-friendly 2-bedroom home with a yard.

Vinyl’s not dead! Not at Dead Wax Records, where customers can buy, sell and trade records with Fido in tow. Sniff out rare CDs and cassette tapes of all genres at this independent St. Louis gem. Don’t miss the great selection of band patches, t-shirts and movie posters, too! While shopping, dogs must remain leashed and close to their owners.

In addition to their selection of new and used vinyl, CDs and cassettes, this local shop also offers vintage art and clothing, a great selection of music-related books and the latest equipment for listening to your new finds. Leashed or carried four-legged customers are welcome to join you while you shop!

After buying, selling and trading their favorite tunes, desert dogs are welcome to dine nearby at one of Outpost Cafe’s patio tables. Then, snuggle up at this Luxurious Tiny House, perfect for an overnight stay in California’s high desert.

During your dog-friendly weekend in New Orleans, be sure to include a stop at the iconic Euclid Records New Orleans. With a hot pink storefront and eclectic decor, it’s hard to miss this pet-friendly record store in The Big Easy. Euclid Records invites leashed pups inside to browse their collection of vintage vinyl and new releases, and each pup’s purchase is rewarded with a treat. They also host live music performances and local events.

Afterward, Fido can unleash his excitement at Crescent Park Dog Run just down the street. Then, stay in the trendy Bywater District at The Lookout Inn of New Orleans.

Track down your favorite records and artists at Indy CD & Vinyl, Indiana's largest independent record store. This locally owned shop is a proud member of the Coalition of Independent Music Stores and supports local charities, aiming to be a safe space in the community for all - including Fido! Leashed pups may peruse the collection of new and used CDs and vinyl of all genres.
