Seaside Fun on Fenwick Island

Fenwick Island is the ultimate destination for a quiet, serene vacation with the whole family, including Fido. Spend a day seaside at Fenwick Island State Park, where leashed pups are welcome to play year-round on a section of the beach at the northern dune crossing. Continue relaxing with your pup by renting a kayak or paddleboard from Island Watersports and float on the calm waters of Little Assawoman Bay. Dogs are also welcome on pontoon boat rentals. After a day in the sun, bring your well-behaved, leashed pooch along for a round of miniature golf at Viking Golf. Read up on viking history and be on the lookout for hidden trolls as you putt your way around the 19-hole course.

Relax in comfort at Seaside Inn in Fenwick Island. Each room has its own balcony where Fido can bask in the sun or feel the sea breeze in his fur. While the hotel is just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, guests can also enjoy a dip in the outdoor pool. After settling into your room, take your pup for an evening walk to nearby shops like Seaside Country Store.

Go Fishing With Fido

Exercise Fido’s sea legs with a charter boat rental from Anglers Fishing Center in Lewes. Located at the mouth of the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Anglers offers private fishing charters year-round. Captain Ted welcomes you and your furry first mate aboard either the Angler Party & Head Boat or the Pirate King Two - a 52-foot vessel equipped with radar, fish finder, and GPS plotter. Cruise the bay and ocean in waters ideal for catching sea bass, shark, tuna, marlin and swordfish. Full- and half-day charters are available, along with sightseeing and historic narrated tours. You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks aboard - just no glass containers. Afterward, head next door for some fish and chips on the pup-friendly patio at Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant.

The Homestead Bed & Breakfast at Rehoboth Beach is an adults-only bed & breakfast with two acres of grounds and a large fenced yard that is perfect for your pooch. During the off-season (when dogs are allowed on Rehoboth Beach), you’ll find their doggy shower and towels convenient for cleaning up after a trip to the beach.

Brew for Two

Milton, DE

Dogs are welcome inside the tasting room at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. After sampling a flight, take flight through the pretty grounds together and enjoy unique installations like the Steampunk Treehouse. Before you head out, visit the gift shop to pick up a flying disc and treat Fido to a bag of Waggies Dog Treats made from Dogfish Head spent grain. If you’re looking for a place to play fetch with his new toy, make a pitstop at Milton’s very own hidden gem, Broadkill Beach.

Enjoy a room with a “brew” at the Dogfish Inn. This pet-friendly brewery hotel is just down the road from the main premises. Guests receive a free growler to fill up at the brewery.
