You and your canine companion can explore the mountains and canyons around Santa Fe on a guided tour with Santa Fe Mountain Adventures. With several half-day and full-day hiking tours to choose from, hikers of all skill levels are sure to find an excursion of interest. Take a four-mile hike though a magical grove of Aspen trees in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Or start at the rim of White Rock Canyon and descend 800 feet to the Rio Grande River. For the easiest hiking option, choose the Sunset Diablo Canyon Tour, which takes you on an off-road adventure in a GE230 Wagon or Pinzgauer all-terrain vehicle and ends with a short hike. Fun 4x4 tours that start with a history lesson in Santa Fe and end in Sangres mountains are also available. The tour company mascot, Murjo, might even join you and your pup on the adventure.
Santa Fe’s Inn of the Turquoise Bear welcomes four-legged guests with creature comforts including delicious treats, in-room sleeping pads, food and water dishes, and waste bags for potty breaks. Fido is invited to play off leash in the lush one-acre garden located on the property grounds. Afterward, he can snooze on the spacious main patio while you mingle with other guests and enjoy a glass of wine during the inn’s happy hour.
