March 16-October 31 dogs must be leashed at all times. November 1-March 15 dogs are allowed to be off leash. However, the owner must remain with their pet and have in their possession a leash. Pets must be leashed if requested by another beachgoer or by Beach Patrol. Kiawah Beachwalker Park, located on the west end of Kiawah Island, offers ocean frontage and a river view, along with the only public beach access on beautiful Kiawah Island. The park is operated through a cooperative agreement between Kiawah Development Partners, Charleston County Council, and the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission. Lifeguards are on duty seasonally along a beachfront designated swimming area.
Pet Friendly Freshfields Village in Kiawah Island, SC
Freshfields Village is pet-friendly. Explore and enjoy Kiawah Island’s unique open-air shopping & dining experience, complete with a relaxed Lowcountry setting. Pet-friendly stores around the Village will now have a decal in their windows letting you know your pets are welcome inside. You can bring your well-behaved, leashed pooch with you while you shop, and many stores offer water bowls outside and tasty treats for your companion. Additionally, restaurants will now showcase a window decal designating that they have a pet-friendly patio. After a day of shopping, you can bring your leashed companion by for a bite to eat and cool down. Freshfields Village is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 8:30pm.
