This dog-friendly event offers an opportunity to learn more about dog adoptions, canine education and pet care. Guests can meet vendors, enjoy dog treats and connect with fellow dog lovers while giving plenty of pats to pups.

Bring Fido out to the park for some fun recreation time together and dog activities! Dates this fall are scheduled for September 9th and 23rd.

Polished pups are invited to this elegant, black tie optional evening to benefit Blue Ridge Humane Society. The event will feature delicious food, signature cocktails, raffle items and a short program about BRHS. Dog tickets are limited and all tickets must be purchased in advance. This annual Wiener Dog Derby takes place during Oktoberfest at Southern Appalachian Brewery. The number of heats will depend on how many dogs are registered. Costumes are encouraged! All breeds are welcome to attend Oktoberfest, but races are for Dachshunds or Dachshund mixes only.

Furry, feathered, and even scaly friends are welcome to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi at this annual outdoor blessing. In celebration of this day, they’re collecting cat and dog food and other pet supplies for Blue Ridge Humane Society at all services on this day as well.

Furry, feathered, and scaly companions are invited to this special service in the Wilderness Chapel on the Trails of St. John in Flat Rock. All domestic animals are welcome to receive a blessing, or you may bring a stuffed animal or photo instead. The service honors the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and his legacy of peace and love for all creatures. In case of rain, the service will move indoors to the Parish Hall.
