Dog carrier - Pet Gear Escort

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience to share about Pet Gear Escort carrier. I will be flying with American and it seems it may be 3" to large...according to their policy but i read in some review that the bag was actually smaller then listed.

If not the escort the casual canine backpack....no wheels....?

I would love to hear any ratings/experience with this.
